Shishur Sevay is a model of inclusive non-institutional care for lost and abandoned children, some with severe disabilities, all of whom have been rejected for adoption. Their mission is to protect orphans and abandoned
children, including those having differing abilities and disabilities, by providing a safe environment where they will be sheltered, nurtured, and educated in ways that build Competence, Confidence, Independence and Leadership.
Shishur Sevay organised “Authenticity”. Shishur Sevay emerged from its ten years of self-imposed obscurity while it developed its innovative inclusive living, inclusive education and inclusive art and dance programs.
The exhibition was held from 2 nd to 6 th June, 2017 at ICCR Art Gallery. The inauguration was on 2 nd June 2017 at 5pm. The event witnessed eminent personalities like Mrs. Rita Bhimani & Mr. Soumyajit Mahapatra.
Dr Michelle Harrison, Founder of Shishur Sevay is an American physician, author and former corporate executive at Johnson & Johnson, who established Shishur Sevay to serve as a home with innovative programs and advanced technology for the severely impaired girls.
