Mico layout cops cracked PG owner murder case within 48 hours by launching nationwide manhunt .
The Mico Layout police on Friday arrested the man who killed the owner of a paying guest accommodation in Mico Layout on December 12.
The accused has been identified as Shivashankar (29), a native of Madhubani in Bihar, was picked up from Ludhiana, Punjab.
Shivashankar was employed as a cook at the PG for the past six months and stayed with Reddy in the same building.
Shivashankar had made away with Rs 2 lakh that the owner, Thirumala Reddy, had collected as rent.
Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh,told media persons that,Tirumala Reddy the owner of the praneetha PG for men in BTM layout was found murdered under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday he was stabbed to death in a sleek by an unknown assailant.The incident came to light when the owner son woke up in the morning and saw the body lying in a pool of blood.The Mico layout police were on the case and launched a nationwide manhunt for the culprit based on a few leads.A team led by,DCP Southeast, Dr.Boralingaiah,under the supervision of ACP,Karibasavanna Gowda with PI,Ajay R.M,and his crime staff of Mico layout police station swung into action and with the reliable inputs our team nabbed culprit in less than 72 hours and after nabbing the culprit during investigation more twist to the tale.Just 48 hours after the complaint the police cracked the case and nabbed accused Shivashankar in Delhi detailed investigation revealed that Shivashankar used to watch CID regularly and planned the murder accordingly.The accused had switched off the CCTV camera before murdering Reddy, they said. Later, he broke open the almirah and stole the money. His exit from the building was recorded on a CCTV camera at a nearby building.The police accessed his call records and traced him to Ludhiana. A Mico Layout police team went to Punjab, arrested Shivashankar and brought him back to Bengaluru.The knife used to murder Reddy has also been recovered.Speculation were that the Shivashankar the cook at the PG and tirumala Reddy had an heated argument before Shivashankar committed the murder Shivashankar was absconding after the murder incident he added .
DCP Southeast Dr.Boralingaih M.B.told media persons that,Except from his name,we had no other details of the cook.We knew his name was shivashankar.After the murder we had to go through a lot of hurdles to find his background and predict his next moves.Our officers have done a really good job in investigating the matter and they have been successful in nabbing him in 48 hours.We were helped by Ludhiana police in nabbing him.I would like to emphasize the importance of checking the background and details of your employee yet again and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,T Suneel Kumar has appreciated,Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh,DCP Southeast,Dr.Borlingaiah.M.B,
