Vijayanagar police, recently claimed to have prevented a dacoity attempt at RPC layout near Chitrakoota play home, following the arrest of four persons.
Accused has been identified as Vikram alias vikki alias Kollegal, (26),Pravin alias valle, (21),Nagaraj alias Mottenaga, (25),Poornesh alias Poorna, (25).The identity of absconding miscreant has been established as Praveen and Manjuanth.
Senior officer said On a tip-off, Vijayanagar police Sub Inspector Shivalingaiah who was on night rounds on 15th night has got credible information from the informant that around 4 to 5 people have come in innova and are standing near Chitrakoota play home in rpc layout area with sharp weapons, as soon as the information was passed our PSI and crime staff rushed to spot and after reaching the spot our staff covered the area and it was found that he was Rowdy sheeter of Vijayanagar police station by name Vikram and a habitual offender and our team managed to get hold of four accused whereas two of their accomplice managed to escape with lethal weapons from the spot taking advantage of darkness,and all the four were detained and were taken to vijayanagar police station for further questioning and during the course of investigation they confessed the crime and it was revealed that they came their to target lonely people and a two wheeler riders who passes in the night and by stopping them they were in plan to rob them with cash and valuables and with the reliable inputs we have prevented dacoity and major loots and we have seized their Innova vehicle and sharp weapons used for committing crime.The vijayanagar police have registered a case under sections 399 and 402 of IPC and relevant sections of the Arms Act and all the accused are in judicial custody whereas search for the absconding accused has been intensified. All the arrested men have past criminal records and had remained in jail many times due to their anti-social acts and during further interrogation they would be quizzed regarding similar incidents of dacoity and loot in the past and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner, T Suneel Kumar,Addl CP West, B K Singh,has appreciated,DCP West,M N Anucheth,ACP Vijayanagar sub division, Parameshwar Hegde,PI,G.N.Nagesh,PSIs as,B.H.Santhosh,B.N.Shivalingaiah,Harish Kumar D,and crime staff as,Umesh,Yeshwanth,Santosh Kumar,Sameer Mirzanawar,Naddaf and other crime staff has been appreciated for the commendable job done by them who has successfully nabbed the notorious dacoits and foiled their dacoity plan he added.
