Notorious Robbery Gang Busted,22 cases detected,2 pistols and 4 rounds bullets recovered by Begur Police

The Southeast Zone, of Begur police have arrested four notorious robbers who were involved in more than 22 cases of robberies and thefts in the city.They also seized two country made pistols and four live bullets from the accused.

The accused has been identified as Sayed Abrar, 29, a resident of Marathahalli, Nasrullah, 24, Tauseef Ahmed, 28, and Sayed Sheikh Thabariz, 28, all residents of K.G. Halli.

DCP Southeast,Dr.MB.Borlingaiah,told media persons that based on a complaint registered by a wholesale businessman Madhusudan who was threatened and robbed by the four accused in Begur,based on a complaint we formed a special team under the leadership of ACP,Ramesh KN,under the supervision of Giriraj,PI of Begur and his crime team swung into action and the team received a tip off that a group of people are hatching a dacoity plan immediately our team rushed to spot and secured the gang of four members and during preliminary investigation it was revealed that the gang of four used to target wholesale cigarette suppliers and pigmy deposit collectors and loot them at knife-point or threaten them with daggers.Sometimes,they also targeted people carrying cash from banks to conceal their identities,they used to wear helmets.The accused recently attacked a wholesale cigarette dealer,and stated that four persons, wearing helmets,came on Pulsar bikes and robbed him at knife-point on April 5 afternoon near a shop on APR Road in Hongasandra.On realising that similar cases were being registered in different parts of the city and we recovered two country-made pistols, four live bullets, two daggers, two bikes, two fake number plates of bikes and Rs.80,000 cash. With the arrest of the accused, a total of 22 dacoity and robbery cases registered in different police stations across city has been detected.When the team questioned the accused about the weapons they revealed that they had purchased two pistols from one Miraz Khan of Uttar Pradesh and based on their statement we have arrested Miraj Khan also and we have taken him to police custody from judicial custody and are probing into his gun dealings and when our team grilled them they spelled the beans and after verifying their criminal records it was revealed that,Syed Abrar is history-sheeter in KG Halli police station and as many as 30 cases were pending against him.This apart,nine warrants have been issued against him,which were not yet executed.Similarly,as many as 18 cases were registered against Nasrulla in different police stations and nine warrants have been issued which were yet to be executed.Another accused Syed Shekh Tabrez was also involved in 15 cases registered in different police stations.The warrants issued against him too were not executed and all the accused had a history of not appearing before the court after they were released on bail. A case under Arms Act has been registered in Begur police station and all accused are cooling their heels in judicial custody and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,T Suneel Kumar,Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh,has appreciated DCP Southeast, Dr.MB.Borlingaiah,ACP Electronic city sub division,Ramesh KN,PI,Giriraj and his whole crime team who has done a tremendous job by nabbing this notorious dreaded robbery gang he added .
