A notorious gang of women who used to target commuters in and around areas of majestic especially bus stand and railway station has been arrested by Upparpet police.
The accused has been identified as,Asha,28,a resident of Banashankari and Sudha alias Rekha,28,a resident of T. Dasarahalli,while four other accused identified as,Ratna,Suma,Padma and auto driver Rajesh,are at large.
Modus Operandi :
The gang of women used to lure lonely passengers in the night in and around majestic bus stand and railway station in the pretext of offering sex and then they would call their associate Rajesh a Auto Driver and then they would drive them to secluded or deserted place.Then, other women would join in and demand money from the victim.They also click indecent pictures of the victims and, they used to threatened them by saying that they would create a scene and file a complaint of sexual harassment against them and if anyone fails to give them the money,they would say that person had got into the auto rickshaw and sexually harassed them was their Modus Operandi to lure lonely people and especially they used to target commuters who come from outside as different state.
DCP West,Ravi.D.Channannavar,told media persons that as On September 11 night, a 51-year-old man from Udupi, who was visiting the city, was forced into an autorickshaw by two women and robbed.He lodged a complaint with the Upparpet police he stated in his complaint that he has refused to get into the autorickshaw, but was forced inside by Rajesh and two women.They took Rs. 3,000 and his mobile phone before pushing him out of the vehicle based on the complaint,Upparpet Police inspector T.D. Sathish Kumar,PSI,G.Shivanand and his team rushed to spot and laid a trap and with the help of CCTV footage and with the help of informants the cops have zeroed in on one of the women and took her to station for questioning and during the course of investigation the women identified as Asha has confessed the crime and based on her statement our team nabbed another women with the help of technical investigation skills the cops have arrested another woman identified as Sudha alias Rekha and recovered the victims cash and phone from their possession and was returned to the victim by the team and a massive manhunt is on for the other gang members also comprised of a man named Rajesh a Auto Driver and we will nab them soon and a case has been registered in upparpet police station and further investigation is on and finally,Bengaluru Police Commissioner,T.Suneel Kumar,Addl CP West,B.K.Singh,has appreciated,DCP West,Ravi D Channannavar,ACP,Chickpet Sub-division,Niranjanraj Urs,and his team as PI,T.D.Sathish Kumar,PSI,Shivanand.G and their whole crime staff who has done a tremendous job and busted the notorious women gang who used to lure lonely people in and around majestic.but the gang’s notorious way cames out in the open when of the victim came forward and lodged a complaint as Most men robbed did not lodge a complaint getting fear of their image and respect in the society he added.
