SEVENTEENTH VASANT UTSAV AT SAI KA AANGAN, GURGAON

Sai Ka Aangan, Gurgaon hostedthe 17th Vasant Utsav celebration at its premises, on Sunday, February 10, 2019, under the aegis of Shirdi Sai Global Foundation.A lively dhunuchinaach performed to the rhythms of live dhol greeted the audience at the venue. Post a formal welcome, the Chief Guest for the event, Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathyjilighted the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the evening’s programme.

The highlight of the event was the release of two books titled New Findings on Shirdi Sai Baba and Shri Guru Bhagavat (Part VI) in Odia, both authored by Dr. Satpathyji. Shri Rajeev Joshi, Chief Vigilance Officer at ONGC and ShriS. K. Ghai of Sterling Publishers were at the dais as Dr. Satpathyji made the books public. The former book contains unknown facts on the Master and the Shirdi village, collected from rare documents drawn from national archives, Police records, personal accounts and diaries in different languages, while the latter is a part of the magnum opus which found roots in 2001.

A beautiful exhibition of the varied culture of Indian heritage marked this annual feature of the Aangan. The audiencewitnesseda kaleidoscopic documentation of the celebratory events held at Sai Ka Aangan during the centennial year of Shri Sainath’s Maha Samadhi. Renditions of melodious devotional songs by Shri AjitKadkade, renowned vocalist from Maharashtra, held the audience in rapt attention while an exclusive medley of Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Odishidance performances by students of Smt. Vani Madhav, Founder Director of the dance ensemble ‘Nrityadhara’, added to the fervour of the celebration. An in-house enactment ofa short play titled Shri Guru Bhagavat ke PannoSae,based on Shri Guru Bhagavat, directed by Shri Prakhar Gautam, Founder of Parindey Storyteller Theatre Group, Gurgaon and organized by Shri Puneet Khanduja of Tamasha Entertainment Production House, Gurgaon, won applause from the spectators.

Dr. Satpathyji addressed the assembled guests and highlighted that the first principle of gyaan is the awareness of agyaan. He said that dream is just an illusion, one needs to surrender himself in order to gain knowledge and happiness.

All the performing artists were felicitated by Dr. Satpathyji. Ms. Kumkum Bhatia, Managing Trustee, gave the Vote of Thanks. Smt. Jyotsna Rai, former news reader at Doordarshan, was the Master of the Ceremony.

The day ended with Langar Prasad served to all.
