The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Mahamudu Bawumia was present in New Delhi, India as a Special Guest of Honour at the 14th CII Exim Bank Conclave on India Africa Partnership Project. He was also accompanied by his spouse and second lady of Ghana, Her Excellency Samira Bawumia.
As a part of the programme for the visit, the Ghana High Commission in partnership with Mr. Dhiraj Ahuja, President, Delhi NCR Chapter Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), and Dr Senorita Issac, Executive Head of Women & Child Welfare Wing, Delhi NCR Chapter and Founder Chairperson of Human Achievers Foundationorganised an award ceremony and meeting at the High Commission.
The meeting primarily aimed at soliciting support for the activities of the Samira Empowerment & Humanitarian Projects (SEHP). About One Hundred (100) Indian Philanthropists, leaders of selected NGOs, officials of the Governments of India and businessmen/women among others, were present to grace the occasion. The event also honouredand recognised deserving individuals and organisations, including your good self, for their avowed contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and humanity in general.
A panel discussion was also conducted on Women Empowerment, Mother & Child Care and Humanitarian Projects. The panellists were Ms. Usha Vajpayee and Ms. Chitwan Malhotra who discussed on important topics such as importance of innovative clean cooking stove, the concerns faced by women across the globe and how we can take initiative at individual level to bring a change in the society to make a better world.
There was also a prestigious awards ceremony – Achievers Award 2019 by Human Achiever Foundation and GOPIO organised by Mr. Dhiraj Ahuja, and Dr. Senorita Isaac. These awards were a way of saying thank you to those who have worked for the betterment of the society in any way.
