INDIAN ARMY CELEBRATES 5TH INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

To commemorate the 5th ‘International Yoga Day’, Military Stations at Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Dhrangdhara, Desert Sector and Jamnagar organized Yoga Sessions for the troops and families on 21 Jun 2019.  Peace, Happiness and Health’ was the theme for the event. Personnel and families practiced Yoga and Meditation under the guidance of professional Yoga instructors in serene environment.

            The Yoga sessions started with ‘Stretching & Loosening Exercises’ followed by Basic Yogic Asanas and ‘Breathing Exercises’ like ‘Kapalabhaati’ and ‘Pranayama’. Special emphasis was given to meditation and its impact on core areas – physical, mental and spiritual. The benefits of yogic postures, breathing techniques and meditation were explained to participants, simultaneously.

            Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition, embodies unity of mind, body, thought and action, restraint and fulfillment. It not only brings harmony between man and nature but also inculcates holistic approach to health and well being.
