New Delhi, 23rd June. BJP Delhi Pradesh held a programme today at the Shahidi Park to pay homage to Late Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his Martydom Day. BJP National Working President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Pradesh President Shri Manoj Tiwari, LOP Shri Vijender Gupta, Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, MPs Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Shri Pravesh Verma, National Office Secretary Shri Mahender Pandey, Organization General Secretary Shri Siddharthan, Pradesh General Secretaries Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Shri Ravinder Gupta, Shri Rajesh Bhatia alongwith Pradesh Office bearers, Corporation leaders, District Presidents and senior workers were present in this programme.
On this occasion, Shri Nadda said that Dr. Mukherjee was strong nationalist, visionary and guide who had the capacity to change the direction of the times. Giving a brief description of the life and achievements of Dr. Mukherjee he said that he had a great will power to solve the problems of the country and in view of this he dedicated himself in the field of education. We are fortunate that this Jansangh Leader was also a great educationist and he became the youngest Vice Chancellor of Kolkata University at the age of 33 only. Shri Nadda said that Dr. Mukherjee was not eager to get any post but he only wanted to serve country.
Targeting the then Prime Minister of Congress Party, Shri Nadda said that Shri Jawahar Lal Nehru had given him the post of a Minister under the interim Government but due to the appeasement policy of Nehru and in protest of Nehru Liyakat Ali Pact, he resigned from the cabinet and dedicated his entire life to strengthen the unity and integrity of the country. Dr. Mukherjee had firmly said that India’s tricolor should be given highest respect and we will not allow Ek Desh me do Nishaan, do Vidhan, do Pradhan.
Shri Nadda said that the mysterious circumstances under which Dr. Mukherjee died on 23rd June, 1953, the entire nation was shocked and the people started raising questions that when Dr. Mukherjee was in good health when he entered Jammu area then how he died within a month? The demands were made in the entire country to enquire into the death of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee but Pt. Nehru did not order for this enquiry. Shri Nadda said that the sacrifice of Dr. Mukherjee will not go in vain. BJP is committed to get investigated the reasons of the death.
Shri Nadda further said that due to the sacrifice of Dr. Mukherjee the permit system was abolished in Jammu Kashmir and the tricolor is being hoisted in entire Jammu Kashmir, the jurisdiction of Supreme Court and CAG was extended to J & K and it is in the main stream of the country. He said that BJP under the leadership of Shri Narender Modi is taking forward this agenda and we are making progress in solving the problems of Jammu-Kashmir. The sacrifice of Dr. Mukherjee is a great inspiration to the youth and workers of the party. Dr. Mukherjee accomplished such works which was very much advance in time. The country will remember his sacrifice forever.
On this occasion, Delhi BJP President Shri Manoj Tiwari said that all the workers of the party are working untidily to achieve the objectives of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Our great Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi is realizing the dream of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee regarding Kashmir or any other subject. Every worker of the party is committed to take forward his thinking. The way in which BJP is working, the next generation will be able to know what Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had given to this country. The campaign started by him still continues. Dr. Mukherjee opposed Ek Desh me do Nishaan, do Vidhan, do Pradhan and fought for abolishing permit raj and with his sacrifice this permit raj was abolished. The sacrifice of Dr. Mukherjee will not go in vain. Every BJP worker is committed to achieve the objectives for which he started his campaign.
