The 350 acres can be then used for suburban rail.Angadi, along with South Western Railway General manager, Ajay Kumar Singh, should visit the junction and initiate the shifting process as soon as possible. The state government’s non-cooperation has delayed railway projects and that needs to change for speeding up projects, especially to do away with level crossings. The long-standing demand for NGEF land in Baiyappanahalli is still pending with the state government. We want the state government to join hands with the railways for creating better infrastructure he added.
Minister of State for Railways,Suresh.C. Angadi on Saturday agreed to a suggestion mooted by Bengaluru Central MP, PC Mohan to shift the entire freight train operations from Whitefield in order to develop it into a transportation hub for suburban rail, Metro trains and BMTC buses.Angadi was responding to Mohan’s recommendation during a function held to inaugurate the third entry of Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna railway station. The MP had proposed that the Inland Corporation Depot run by a Railway PSU, Container Corporation of India Ltd (Concor), and the Satellite Goods Terminal in Whitefield be relocated to outer areas such as Hoskote. To this, Angadi said,I will take up the issue with the Centre and ensure that it is implemented within the time frame you (Mohan) want it to be done.In 2012, consultancy firm RITES submitted the final report on suburban rail for the city in which it had proposed creating more freight terminals, initially in Bengaluru North and later in the South and west.Angadi also gave railway officials one month’s time to fix the problem of toilet waste running from the trains onto the tracks. The problem is so bad that sometimes the sewage falls on vehicles passing through the railway underpasses in the city. The issue was highlighted by Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun to the Ministry of state railways who said it is very major problem and it will help many people who goes out for any function and meeting as if the toilet trickles on any public it is not good as even I have experienced this when I used to travel from Bengaluru to Belgaum so taking the matter very seriously on priority the work should happen he said to Railway officials and even said to Mayor to get back to him if the work is not done.Speaking to press persons after the inaugural at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station, Angadi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has planned to link all Railway Divisions by electrifying all Railway tracks in the country. The electrification, apart from improving Railway systems and services is also a major step in uniting countrymen, he said and added that a proper co-ordination between the Union Government, State Governments and local bodies will make implementation of Railway projects much easier.3200 Crore will be spent to doubling of Pune-Miraj Londa-Hubli from which more trains will connect.15 lakh pensioner we have.He even said that after taking charge as Ministry of state railways I travelled in train in general to interact with people to address their grievances which we help us to improve and I have asked the officers to travel by train and address the grievieance of passengers he said that Local coach will also be designed in General coach and we will install CCTV cameras also.Angadi assured the MP of the railways’ cooperation. If the state government comes forward,I will instruct the railway officials to take up the work immediately.Safety and punctuality of trains will be the major focus of the 100-day action plan for the railways approved by the Centre, said Suresh Angadi, minister of state, railways said.
Third entrance to the KSR Bengaluru railway station. In an effort to decongest the main entrance to the station and provide Metro commuters easy access, the third entrance is equipped with a car parking and two wheeler parking. But some passengers said it will be only useful for the passengers travelling from platform 1 and 2 as there is no direct connect to platform 8 to 10 or other platforms as many trains gets depart from platform 4-10 so it will not help many passengers people said.
