The South Division police of Konanakunte police have arrested a notorious dreaded 11 member criminal gang including a lady and recovered valuables from their possession.
The leader of this gang was a old lady a resident of konanakunte area.
The accused has been identified as,Girijamma,47,Raju alias Stephen Raju,51,Raghuvaran alias Raghu,Suresh,36,Lingaraju,34,all resident of Konankunte area and other inter state accused are identified as, Stephen Raju alias Stephen,25,Manikantan alias Mani,25,Sathish,20,Abdul Samad,29,Sathish Kumar alias appu,all resident of Tamilnadu.
The gang used to target lonely ladies who has jewellery and valuables.
Modus Operandi : The gang which was spare headed by Girijamma used to recee the houses of the victim as she would visit their house and befriend them and she used to give them a nick name and becomes closer to them and after confirming that there is no men in the house she used to hatch the plan to rob them she would call the previous criminals from Tamilnadu to rob them.
Girijamma resides in a house in konankunte 1st main road and she is known to people and many are close to her.
Senior officer said,as on 22nd August this gang headed by Girijamma with her other gang members had hatched plan to loot Prabhavathi a tailor’s house they said while Girijamma was cleaning the street other gang member was walking suspiciously in the area and was keeping a watch on who is roaming around after sometime from behind few people started running and five others barged in the house and Girijamma kept observing the house Stephen on the other hand keeps watch on the streets who are roaming around the area and was giving clues to the gang while they are robbing once the gang leaves the place Girijamma and Stephen also leaves the spot without giving any clue then with the clue of CCTV footage of the neighbours house the team were successful in nabbing the lady after arresting her the team grilled who spilled the beans and based on her statement the team nabbed all other 10 accused and Detected the case he added.
Ms.Prabhavathi,by profession a tailor told media persons that,We have been living in the same house for more than 14 years my mother and I stay together and my occupation is tailoring our owners and we are very close this lady Girijamma is known to us for about four and half years that day she came to me and asked for a thread to stich a Saree since I knew her for a long time I gave it to her later around 3 men came to our house and stood in front of me I was doubtful hence I started screaming loudly but they tied up my hands,legs,and put me down on the floor they did the same to my mother and even closed our mouths then they stole the ornaments which were on my body and mother’s neck she added.
DCP South,Dr.Rohini Katoch Sepat told media persons that a Robbery complaint was registered in konankunte police station by the complainant who stated in her complaint that as on 22nd August when she and her mother were in their house her neighbour came to her house to take thread to stitch a saree after she going later around 3 men came to our house and stood in front of me I was doubtful hence started screaming loudly they tied hands legs of me and my mother they even closed our mouth and took the valuables which was on my body and my mother’s body and escaped from the spot as per the complaint we formed a special team under the supervision of ACP Mahadev,and PI,Dharmendra and his crime staff swung into action first they visited the crime spot and collected details from the victim and then they collected all the CCTV footages in the neighborhood areas and started their investigation after collecting the details the team got a concrete evidence based on the CCTV footage and other technical inputs the inspector and his team zeroed in on the old lady on suspect and took her in to Custody for further questioning during interrogation the lady confessed the crime that she and her other gang members have robbed the house and based on her statement we arrested her and the accused was identified as Girijamma who was neighbour of vicitm and based on her information our team picked all the other gang members totally 11 were arrested and during the course of investigation they confessed the crime.This gang is basically spare headed by the neighbour of the victim only she was a person who has contacted this previous known criminals who is based in Tamilnadu and he got some people from Tamilnadu who has planned this entire robbery and a detailed investigation by the team it has revealed the gang leader Girijamma also runs a chit fund business and has cheated many people and she even said that she has helped the gang members to rob her own sister’s house in Kodagu and by arresting this eleven member gang our team has recovered gold and silver ornaments,1 Autorickshaw,2 Two-wheelers from their possession used in the conspiracy of crime and with this we have solved three cases registered against this gang in Konakunte,Malleswaram,and Kadugodi police station and a case has been registered in Konankunte police station and further investigation is on,and finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Bhaskar Rao,has appreciated, Addl CP West,Umesh Kumar,DCP South,Dr.Rohini Katoch Sepat,ACP,T.Mahadev,PI,DharmendraTM, PSIs,as,Sreenivas Prasad,Ms.Kavitha,probationary PSI, Ms.Sowmya,and crime staff as,Nagaraju,Siddegowda,Guruprasad,Sagar and other crime staff for the commendable job done by them in nabbing the notorious eleven gang members who has given sleepless nights to many residents are now cooling their heels in jail she added.
