I am impressed with the public health approach of Taipei. They not only picked up the first cluster of cases but also declared that it was Den 3, which is less dangerous forms.
In most other countries we never get to know the type of dengue for months. We all know Den 2 ands Den 4 are dangerous.
The Centers for Disease Control announced the first cluster of dengue fever cases to affect a university campus with four students at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan confirmed to have the disease. The cases are two men, a woman and a teen. Two being DENV-3 cases.
Would like to know in which countries the dengue types DEN 1, DEN 2, DEN 3 and DEN 4 are declared to the medical community in the initial stages
