43 people died and more than 15 people were injured in a fierce fire this morning at the packaging factory at Grain Mandi on Delhi’s Rani Jhansi Road. The packaging and bag making factory in the narrow streets of Filmistan caught fire due to short circuits. According to police, most of these people died of asphyxiation.
Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Delhi BJP State President Shri Manoj Tiwari, Union Minister Shri Anurag Thakur, LOP Shri Vijender Gupta, MP Shri Pravesh Sahib Singh, MLA Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Media Co-Incharge Shri Neelkanth Bakshi and Media Head Shri Ashok Goel Devraha visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, Lady Hardinge Hospital, and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital to meet the injured after visiting the scene of a horrific fire in Filmistan
. Former Union Minister Shri Vijay Goel, Delhi Pradesh General Secretary Organisation Shri Sidharthan, General Secretary Shri Ravindra Gupta, Vice President Shri Abhay Verma, Standing Committee Chairman of NDMC Shri Jaiprakash, District President Shri Arvind Garg including BJP office bearers were also present at the spot.
Expressing deep grief over this horrific incident of fire, Delhi BJP President Shri Manoj Tiwari said that I am deeply saddened by this incident. This incident has taken away their loved ones from many families, I pray to God for the peace of the souls of the departed.
This horrific fire incident has shaken Delhi, we are standing with immense grief for the families of the victims and the Bharatiya Janata Party Delhi Pradesh will provide a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of those deceased and Rs 25,000 to those injured in the fire.
Talking to the injured, assuring them of providing all possible help, Shri Tiwari said that the Delhi BJP stands with the families of the victims in this hour of grief. BJP workers have been present at the scene since morning and are working diligently to provide proper assistance to the victims’ families.
Shri Tiwari said that such incidents separate son, father and loved ones from many families, hence the Delhi BJP demands that the cause of the fire should be investigated objectively strict action should be taken against culprits so that such incidents do not happen again in the future.
