Lakhs of people of 1731 unauthorized colonies from whose foreheads blot of unauthorized was erased and were conferred ownership rights to their houses today assembled in histioric Ramlila Maidan in the Dhanyawad Rally to share their happiness, welcome their popular Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and express their gratitude. Pradesh President Shri Manoj Tiwari handed over 11 lakh signatures of the people living in 1721 unauthorized colonies collected by the party office bearers. For the purpose of welcoming Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, people came putting on attires of various states of the country. Ramlila Maidam became insufficient to accommodate large number of people where thousands of people raised slogan Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that I am very happy that the opportunity of bringing new dawn in the lives of more than 40 lakh people of Delhi came to me and BJP. Many-many congratulations for getting the ownership rights of your houses and land which is your greatest asset and also complete right through Pradhan Mantri Uday Yojana. Even after decades of independence a large part of the population of Delhi had go through uncertainty, fear, worry, fraud and false promises. The lives of this large population of Delhi remained confined to the terms like illegal, unauthorized, JJ clusters, sealing, bulldozer and cut off dates. These people were never honest in providing permanent solutions to the people of Delhi and ending their worries. The condition was such that previous governments demanded extension of time till 2021 for collecting small information, fixing boundaries etc in view of their slow speed, we decided to take over this work and in March this year and we started work on it and got the Bill passed connected with the unauthorized colonies in Loksabha and Rajyasabha. With the help of technology, the work of fixing boundaries of more than 1700 colonies has been completed. Not only this, the maps of more than 1200 colonies has been uploaded on the portal. The decision of regularizing theses colonies is not only of conferring rights of land and houses but it also to boost business and trade in Delhi.
Prime Minister said that it is not in our nature, culture or politics to keep the problems pending. The people who had assured of regularizing the houses of the people have given more than two thousand big bungalows to near and dear ones. They did not do anything for the people of Delhi. On the one hand we got vacated two thousand bungalows from VIP and on the other conferred rights to more that 40 lakh poor and middle class people. The poor people are VIP for us it the priority of central government to make their lives convenient, increase connectivity. In spite of the obstructions we have expended the metro rail during the last five years. Before 2014 the expansions of Delhi Metro was 14 km per year now it is 25 km per year. During the last five years 116 km new lines have become operational in Delhi and work on 70 km is going on. This could have been completed earlier if the state government did not put hindrances. Hence I say that the people who play politics in the name of people do not understand their problem.
Shri Modi also said that the people who were making excuses in the name of buses have paralyzed the public transport in Delhi. We have always tried to provide facilities to the commuters of Delhi. Peripheral express way has been completed around Delhi which was pending since year. Now 30-40 thousands trucks do not enter Delhi and the traffic and pollution has also reduced. Hundreds of new CNG stations have been opened. 50 percent of the industry is working on PNG. Apart from this, thousands of brick kilns have to be connected with new technology or even helped the surrounding states regarding the stubble, we have worked with promptness. The present government of Delhi is not even concerned about the biggest problem here. This is the problem of water. Delhi Government claims that clean water is available everywhere in Delhi, but the truth is that today the maximum numbers of water purifier i.e. water purifying machine is sold in the country. Those who cannot install water purifiers are either forced to buy a water bottle or they are forced to use polluted water. In most places, there is no water either from the tap and people do not believe in the water that comes. It is necessary to work on the mission mode to get Delhi out of such situations. For this, cooperation is necessary, but those who consider the people of Delhi as their slaves and the owners of Delhi, cannot understand this. Is this not an insult to the people of Delhi?
Prime Minister said that in the recently concluded session of Parliament, not only the Bill related to the colonies of Delhi but the second important Bill, the Citizenship Amendment Bill have been passed, but after the passing of this bill some political parties started spreading various rumours. I want to know from them:
When we did the work of legitimizing hundreds of colonies of Delhi, then did we asked someone what is your religion, whom you have faith, which party are you supporting? -No.
When we gave free gas connections to more than 8 crore families under the Ujjwala Yojana, did we ask for their religion? Asked their caste? No.
In the last five years, our government has given houses to more than 15 million poor people. We did not asked anyone what is your religion.-No.
The world’s largest health assurance scheme ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme is running in India today. This scheme has ensured more than 50 crore poor people, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Due to political interest, Delhi government did not implement Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi. Those states where this scheme has been implemented, about 70 lakh patients have been treated free in the hospital. Among its beneficiaries are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians. Did we see religion in it?-No.
I want to know from the Congress, its allies and the parties that do politics of dividing the country like that when we have not discriminated against any people of the country in any scheme, then why such false allegations, why conspiracy to discredit India worldwide? These people have not only tried to push Delhi but also many cities of the country into an atmosphere of chaos and fear, they have conspired. They make statements to incite violence and hatred, but do not speak anything to establish peace. If they do not take the initiative to establish peace, it means that they are silently supporting violence.
Shri Modi said that you have also seen last week how some opposition parties including Delhi’s ruling party can go to any extent for their selfishness and politics. You must have seen and heard the statements that were made, the way people were instigated, the provocative things went somewhere. These people have conspired, tried to push not only Delhi but many cities of the country into an atmosphere of chaos and fear. There have been attacks on children’s school buses, passenger buses, trains have been attacked, people’s vehicles have been burnt, government property in which honest taxpayer’s money has been damaged and their politics tells the truth. I want to tell such people that if you want to hit stones then hit it on Modi, if you want to burn then burn the effigy of Modi, but at least don’t harm any poor person property. What will you get by beating the poor autos drivers, buses drivers? What will you get by injuring the policemen on whom you are throwing stones? Do not forget that more than 33 thousand policemen in the country have sacrificed for peace, for your safety. When a crisis comes, there is a problem, then the police do not ask what your religion is. Recently, the fire that took place here in Delhi itself, killed many people, at that time did the police ask which religion people are from? Then why is such a lie being spread? He stressed that there is a need to identify those who sell lies and spread rumors. These are two types of people. One is those, whose politics are based on the vote bank for decades. Others are those who have benefited from this politics. These people used to think that the government itself is there, the country runs at their behest and the history they will tell will be accepted as truth.
Shri Modi said that those who do vote bank politics and consider themselves to be the fate of India, today when they have been rejected by the people of the country, they have taken away their old objective-divide and rule. The Citizenship Amendment Act is not for any citizen of India, whether Hindu or Muslim. The NRC which has not come yet, for which the rules and regulations have not been decided yet, is being made an issue. The Congress and its workers spread rumours and some people started following them. its workers , educated Naxalites and urban Naxals living in cities, are spreading rumors that all Muslims will be sent to detention centers. I am surprised that this rumor has created panic among even the well educated people. First read once, what is the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. Even those who are still in confusion, I will say that do not get into the rumor of the Detention Center raised by Congress and Urban Naxalites. Both the Citizenship Law and the NRC will not have any effect on the Muslims of soil of this country, whose ancestors were from India. No one is going to send the Muslims of the country to the Detention Center. The rumor of sending to detention center is lie. I am surprised, to what extent these people can go for lying.
While answering the opposition’s lie on the Citizenship Amendment Act, the Prime Minister said that some people are trying to declare the Citizenship Amendment Act against the poor, saying that those who will come and take away the rights of the poor here, while this Act will only apply to those who have been living in India for years. No new refugee will get the benefit of this law. Those who are telling such lies should also check the condition of people who came from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh due to religious persecution. These are the people, mostly Dalits, who were kept as bonded laborers in Pakistan. Even today they are discriminated against in Pakistan. The atrocities with daughters there, they are forced to convert by forcibly marrying, also comes continuously in the media. This happens only because their faith is different, their method of worship is different. Due to similar exploitation in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, they have come to India and have been living in different parts of the country among us for years. Here in Delhi, a girl has been born in one such camp two weeks ago at Majnu Ka Tila. This girl is named Nagrikta. If their life will be easy, then what is the problem for any citizen of India? What is the enmity of millions of poor, persecuted, exploited, dalit families living in the country for decades who have come to India due to harassment? What is the life of a refugee, what is the pain of expelling them from their homes without any fault, who can understand this better than Delhi. There is no corner here, where after the Partition, Indian refugee cried who became a minority. This ruckus happening on the road is an insult to those tears. I want to clarify again, the Citizenship Amendment Act is not to take away citizenship but to give citizenship.
Shri Modi said that the minorities of our three neighboring countries, who moved to India for shelter due to atrocities, have been given some privilege in this act, some have been relaxed. These privileges are according to the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi, who said that whenever Hindu and Sikh companions living in Pakistan feel that they should come to India, they are welcome. This privilege is in accordance with the promise of the then Indian government, which was made 70 years ago when crores of Indians became minority during partition. Today, when the NDA government, led by Bharatiya Janata Party, is fulfilling the same decades-old promise, it is being opposed. Now they are saying that give privilege to all the citizens of Pakistan. These political parties no longer want to distinguish between illegal infiltrators and persecuted refugees due to their faith. In which country of the world such thing happens? He said that today I want to remind these parties of change about their leaders and decisions. It was Shri Manmohan Singh who stood up in Parliament and said that we should give citizenship to those people from Bangladesh who are being oppressed due to their faith, who are moving from there to India. There was a time when former Chief Minister of Assam, veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi ji also used to write letters. In Assam, the resolution was passed that people who are being tortured in Bangladesh, who are coming here they may be helped. There was a time when Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot ji also had sympathy for such refugees. They used to demand from the government that the situation of Hindus or Sikhs who came here from Pakistan should be improved, but now everything has changed, all that sympathy has disappeared.
Continuing the attack on the opposition, the Prime Minister said that today Mamata didi has reached the United Nations directly from Kolkata, but few years ago, Mamata didi was standing in Parliament, pleading that the infiltrators from Bangladesh be stopped, only percecuted refugees be helped. Today, the Lefts, whom the people of India have rejected, which is now at an end, its veteran leader Prakash Karat also spoke of helping those coming from Bangladesh because of religious persecution. Today, when the political parties of these people are refusing to give citizenship to the refugees who came to India due to religious persecution, their real face is also coming before the people of the country. It is clear that the sympathy of such parties at that time was just an excuse, a lie spoken to the people of the country. The truth is that these people are doing only and only vote bank politics. For this vote bank, these political parties are constantly provoking people, spreading rumors among them.
Shri Modi said that the people of Delhi have seen how a leader in the case of bus burning spread rumours and even put the Delhi Police in the dock but now their truth has been revealed. These opposition parties promoting the politics of hate and violence on the basis of lies are people who had no problem with the permanent resident law based on women and men in the assembly of Jammu and Kashmir, but religious minorities here have the easy way of citizenship, this is the problem. Where are the parties making noise here today in 2004 when the then government of Jammu and Kashmir said that the citizenship of the daughters of Jammu and Kashmir will be lost if they marry a resident outside the state. Was that discrimination in accordance with the spirit of the Constitution of India? He said that today the country is watching them and is awakening and restless towards these people. The country is taking an Indian flag against violence, hate and terrorism, it is comforting to see it. It needs to be kept alive. When this violence calms down, do not forget it; you will not forget the perpetrators of these violence and the spreaders of rumours. These people are enemies of the country’s development, enemies of India’s unity. On the appeal of the Prime Minister, the huge public gathering present in the House expressed their respect to both the houses of Parliament by standing up to the Citizen Amendment Bill and the bill to legalize irregular colonies.
The Prime Minister said that when I see the brick and stone in the hands of those who oppose the Citizenship Amendment Act, I have a lot of trouble, but when I see the tricolour in the hands of some of them, then I also feel relaxed that come on. I hope that now that the tricolour has been lifted, these people will now raise their voice against those who take up arms, those who sponsored Pakistan sponsored terror attacks. I want to say specifically to the Tukde-Tukde Gang that when the tricolour has been held, I hope you will speak against naxalites attacks, also against urban naxalites.
Shri Modi said that the Congress and its allies are also stunned today as to why Modi gets so much support internationally and especially in Muslim majority countries. Why do those countries like Modi so much? After forming the government in 2014, I myself invited the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the oath ceremony. We had renewed our hands of friendship but in return we got cheated. The Islamic world today, the Gulf countries, India’s relations with them are the best in the current era, so there are many reasons. Today, India is constantly working to strengthen its relations with all countries. Be it Palestine, Iran, Saudi Arabia, UAE, or Jordan, India’s relations with all countries are touching new heights today. Afghanistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Maldives and Bahrain have given India their highest civilian honour, trying to intensify their relationship with India’s culture. The manner and the number of Indian prisoners released by Muslim countries in the last five years are unprecedented. Be it Saudi Arabia or Kuwait, Qatar or Bahrain, all these countries have released as many prisoners as they have never released. After all, why is this happening. It is because of their respect for Indian culture, civilization. The deepening of our relations with Bangladesh today has happened after so many years. India, along with Bangladesh, is solving the problems that have been going on since the Partition. Whether there is a dispute over land, connectivity, railway work, new waterways or broadband expansion, we are cooperating with Bangladesh. All these things were not digestible to the Congress and its workers. They think that Modi will get the support of Muslim countries, then how they will make their narrative in India, how to provoke Muslims, so these parties bring new intrigues from time to time. At this time, a new phase of their conspiracies has also started. From above, the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the support of Muslims on Triple Talaq have increased their tension. So I would say – don’t listen to tape records, look at our track record.
The Prime Minister assured the people of the country that be assured, despite the conspiracies of these people, this sevak of yours will not let the country bow down, will not let it divide. These people are behaving in a similar way to me from last two decades. I am aware of their spirit, only then I am here today, otherwise these people have made every effort to get me out of the way. It is my good fortune that despite the hatred of these people, the love and affection of the people of the country, grows on me as much. Whatever will be necessary for the security of the country, no one will stop us from doing whatever is necessary for the interests of the people of the country. Your blessings will expose, and thwart, every plot of theirs. I once again congratulate the people of Delhi for the ownership of their home and their land.
Addressing the people present in the rally, Delhi BJP President Shri Manoj Tiwari said that Delhi is facing various problems but the present government is not concerned about it. He mentioned about a night stay in Nangloi where the people requested him to erase the blot of unauthorized, provide toilets. In Shashi Garden of Delhi, people requested for improving the health services and for closing the wine shops. Timarpur women complained about lack of parks, CCTVs, which were promised but not fulfilled. In Burari, an innocent child said that the roads are in bad shape, please make them like expressway. In Janakpuri, people complained about drinking water which was solved at our level. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has worked for all. He has realized the difficulties of the people living in unauthorized colonies and made a historic decision to solve their problems. Raising a slogan to the people of Delhi, he said that ‘Ek Akela Modi Khada Hai Desh Ko Bachane Ko, Saare Vipakshi Milkar Khade Hai Aaj Usko Harane Ko’. Now the time has come when Delhi needs BJP for 5 years. Entire opposition is trying to break the unity of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian but India is one and no one can break it. In view of the upcoming Assembly Election, Aam Aadmi Party is playing politics. Delhi is like our mother and it is our duty to take it on the path of development. Today, we pledge in historic Ramlila Maidan that we will not let any harm to our mother and dislodge the anarchist Kejriwal government and form BJP government in Delhi.
Addressing the Dhanyawad Rally, Union Minister and Delhi In-charge Shri Prakash Javadekar said that elections are going to be held in Delhi after 45 days and I believe that BJP will form government in Delhi. People of Delhi have to decide whether they want government of development or government of destruction, government following nationalism or government spreading anarchism, government of surgical strike strike and air strike or government raising questions on the bravery of soldiers, government supporting Tukde Tukde Gang or the government taking action against them, a government of the people who stages dharna against 26th January parade or a government which works for enhancing pride of the country, a government providing rights to the refugees or a government opposing them, a government in favor of Ram Mandir or a government opposing it, a government abolishing Article 370 or a government which works only for winning elections.
Shri Javadekar also said that there is a fight between nationalism and anarchism, between development and destructions. Modi government spent Rs 17,000 crores on Expressway but Delhi Government did not contribute to it. People of Delhi will have to decide whether they want a government for construction of Metro Rail or a government obstructing it, a government which implements Ayushman Bharat or a government which does not implement it, a government which supplies polluted water or a government which supplies clean drinking water, a government which withheld funds of MCD or a government which works for the development, a government who works or a government which makes only false announcement. I fully believed that when BJP will come to power in Corporation, in Delhi and in the country, only then Delhi and the country will develop. This will be a government in favor development of Delhi and the country.
Union Minister and Election Co-incharge Shri Hardeep Singh Puri said that in spite of Central government request to fix the boundaries of unauthorized colonies, Kejriwal government could not complete this work in 5 years. Firstly in 2017, after in 2019, he asked for 2 years extension of time. But Kejriwal could not do anything in this connection and after that Modi Government took initiative to complete this work. The work which could be completed by Congress and Aam Aadmi Party government in 21 years now has been completed by BJP government within 100 days. DDA has started the process of mapping and registration and so far more than 10,000 people have registered. Now the people living in these colonies will get the benefit of development schemes. By the year 2022 all the poor people will be provided pucca houses.
On this occasion, Union Minister and Chandni Chowk MP Dr. Harshvardhan said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi wants to make India the World leader. BJP is committed to take the benefits of Central government schemes to the poorest section of society. Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi secured the votes of people of Delhi in the name of development of Delhi but after becoming Chief Minister, he forgot the people of Delhi. AAP had made 70 promises to the people of Delhi but could not fulfill any of the promises. The people of Delhi are not going to misled by the false promises. The leaders of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party and their MLAs are indulging in negative politics to vitiate the atmosphere. The people of Delhi have already rejected Congress and AAP in the Loksabha and Corporation elections. Now they will also reject them in the upcoming Assembly Elections.
New Delhi MP Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi said that we have assembled here to thank Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his historic decisions of not only to regularize unauthorized colonies but also for abolition of Article 370, Triple Talaq, paving the way for Ram Mandir. The country has openly welcomed every decision made by Central Government. BJP is committed to work in the interest of the nation. We do not want to make India a Hindu Nation but Hindustan and want to finish the difference between Hindu and Muslim. But the opposition parties are spreading rumors in connection with Citizenship Amendment Bill.
West Delhi MP Shri Pravesh Sahib Singh said that today for Delhi is just like Diwali. I extend my greetings to all the people of Delhi on this occasion. I am very happy that now the people of unauthorized colonies will now live in their own pucca houses. Aam Aadmi Party was born out of Lokpal movement but after becoming Chief Minister, Kejriwal forgot Lokpal. Kejriwal Government is wasting crores of tax payer’s money on false advertisements. The people of Delhi will give befitting reply in the upcoming Assembly Elections.
North West Delhi MP Shri Hansraj Hans said that people of 1731 unauthorized colonies have come here to thank Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for giving them ownership rights of their houses. These people were not feeling secured about their houses. This issue was pending for the last 70 years but Modi Ji has solved this issue within 100 days. The air and water of Delhi has become poisonous but Kejriwal government has done nothing for it.
East Delhi MP Shri Gautam Gambhir said that our objective is only to serve the people and improve their conditions of living. CCTVs have been installed for security purpose, the work of finishing the mountain of garbage at Ghazipur landfill has been started. We are also working to provide clean drinking water and controlling pollution. During the last 5 years Kejriwal did not fulfill any promise and only misled the people of Delhi. The person who can endanger the prestige of a woman member of his party for one seat cannot protect the honour of women. People of Delhi will vote in favor of Delhi and dislodge Kejriwal government and form BJP government.
Leader of Opposition Shri Vijender Gupta said that the anti-people Kejriwal government of Delhi has deliberately not implemented schemes of Central government in Delhi and deprived the poor of their rights. Kejriwal delayed Metro phase IV project and is the greatest obstruction in the development of Delhi. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also promised Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makan and hence he understands the sufferings of the people of 1731 unauthorized colonies and regularized them. Now, after forming government in Delhi BJP will take the benefits of Central government schemes to the people of Delhi.
