A dream that was dreamt 6 months back has been realized today.Meet the “Veer Vanithe”team of South East Division of @BlrCityPolice.These women have been trained in self defense and will now go and train other women in the society.Be strong, fear none.Be a veer vanithe!
When asked what was the program about,Isha Pant said,In order to spread awareness about issues like women and children safety and drug abuse etc we launched our street play team “Jagruti”. Our men and women have been trained in this craft and will now visit various places to create awareness.A glimpse of their work.
The plays will have a message and, at the same time, provide the public with information that they can use.For instance, one of the skits on women’s safety is targeted towards young women, and revolves around the theme of building safe and healthy relationships.
The South East division police have formed another group ‘Veer Vanithe’, comprising police women who will train women and children in self-defence techniques. They will visit schools and colleges for training sessions. This is another way of fighting social evils. We hope that it will have an impact on the general public.Police personnel performing skits is more meaningful than an officer in uniform giving a speech on these issues.
It is also the first Division to launch electronic beat system,E-beat system in all of its stations, that previously the attendance record of officers going on beat patrolling was done manually. Now, through Subabu app,I can live track them and find out who is on duty. The app also has facial recognition where and when a particular person is caught, we click his or her picture and search through our database,DCP,Pant, told reporters.
