CAIT requested Home Minister to provide special protection to Delhi Traders

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has supported the steps taken by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and other security agencies, including Delhi Police, on the deterioration of few areas of Delhi by unsocial elements . Stringent steps should be taken in establishing the rule of law in Delhi without any further waiting to prevent Delhi for being hostage by few people.

National  Secretary General of CAIT, Mr. Praveen Khandelwal today requested Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah and Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Mr. Anil Baijal to keep the shops of merchants extremely safe in Delhi, in the wake of violent incidents which happened in different areas in last couple of days.  In any type of violent incident, the traders and their establishments are always a soft target and not only their lives but also on the goods stocked by them remains at stake. There is an atmosphere of extreme fear and dread among the traders in Delhi.

With this in view, CAIT has requested the Home Minister and the Lieutenant Governor to make proper security arrangements for the traders and business markets of Delhi and also said that the traders are ready to extend all possible support to the government and administration in this regard. It is necessary to take strict action on the chaotic elements and establish an atmosphere of peace in Delhi.

Mr. Khandelwal has also requested that the traders or merchandise shops which have been damaged in the recent incidents should be given compensation from the government immediately and the people who have been insured should get insurance money from the respective insurers. The Government should issue orders to all insurance companies to settle claims immediately. CAIT has also requested that the government should provide easy loans at discounted interest  rate to sufferer traders so that they can resume their business.

Mr. Khandelwal said that such incidents have severely affected Delhi’s trade which has reduced drastically. Nearly 5 lakh traders from other states come to Delhi every day to buy goods, but due to the current situation and the ongoing irresponsible news on social media, the traders of other states are avoiding Delhi for their purchases, due to which traders of Delhi are suffering a lot and a large part of Delhi’s daily business is lost by each day.
