INDIAN COAST GUARD RECOVERS 88 PACKETS OF CHARAS OF 1.32CR FROM ISLANDS CLOSE TO JAKHAU (GUJARAT)

Indian Coast Guard during patrol and search operations on Islands close to Jakhau (Gujarat) on 17, 21 and 22 Jun 2020 recovered 04, 34 and 50 packets on grounds of suspicion. During test by drug detection kit, the packets were confirmed containing Charas.

Notwithstanding adverse weather conditions, team led by a daring Woman Officer as Captain of Hovercraft and landing party by rubber boats were directed for search operations of islands close to Jakhau. The team brought a great success by recovering 88 packets of charas worth Rs 1.32 Crores (approx) in market. Search Operations was conceived by Station Commander Jakhau under the supervision of District Headquarters -15 (Okha) Gujarat. Recovered 88 Packets of Charas have been handed over to Marine Police.

Agenciesa arefurther investigating. Indian Coast Guard had recently commissioned a Hovercraft squadron at Jakhau to make the coastal security robust and is yielding good results.
