BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN BY NCC DIRECTORATE GUJARAT DURING TESTING TIME OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Be to Covid-19 pandemic, there were reports of the scarcity of blood in various blood banks in Gujarat. NCC Directorate Gujarat with its motivated youth force of volunteer cadets along with posted staff (both defence personnel and civilian) decided to organize blood donation campaign throughout the month of July across various cities in the state in coordination with Indian Red Cross Society. The event has also been organized to commemorate the “kargil Vijay Diwas” on 26 Jul.

In a series of blood donation camps at various places, till date a total of 170 staff and NCC cadets have donated blood in the cities of Navasari, Ahmedabad, Baroda and Godhra. The camps are being organized at other towns of Gujarat also. The young cadets have once again displayed their commitment towards their selfless service by donating blood for the needy people during this pandemic. The cadets have also dedicated the blood donation to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defending the nation in the Kargil War.

The blood Donation is also symbolic of the commitment of the cadets in safeguarding their nation against all adversaries. These cadets by donating blood have set an example for the people of Gujarat and proved to be a source of motivation of all.
