Trio Held,Diamonds Worth of RS.40 Lakhs Recovered by City Market Police;

West Division police of city market Police on tuesday arrested three people with diamonds worth Rs 40 lakhs which was in their possession near Anchepete.

The accused has been identified as,Ravikumar,(54),Praveen Kumar,(51),and Sudheer,(28) all the three resident of Dakshina Kannada District.

DCP,West,Dr.Sanjeev M Patil,said,On September 1st,at around 7:15 pm police inspector BG Kumaraswamy of City Market police station and his team were on rounds in their limits as usually during rounds Inspector gets tip off from their informant that three persons are waiting near Anchepete and are found to be suspicious.

As soon as the information was passed to inspector and his team rushed to the spot and kept a close watch on their movements when the team got suspicious on the trio they surrounded them.

After detaining them the team found a ladies purse in their possession after checking the purse the inspector found 80 pieces of  diamonds wrapped in a paper.

When our team questioned them about the diamonds from their bought the trio dint produce any documentation to prove their ownership they were arrested.

A gold Smith was called to check the quality of diamonds and it was found to be real diamonds and the value of the diamonds is worth of Rs.40 Lakhs.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused allegedly stole the jewels and were looking for a buyer to buy as they have not produced any documentation proof of their ownership we have arrested all the trio and a case has been registered against them in City Market police station under CRPC sections 41(1) (D) R/W 102 and column 379 of the IPC,and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant, has appreciated,Addl CP,West,Soumendu Mukherjee,DCP,West,Dr.Sanjeev M Patil,ACP, Dharmendra,PI, Kumaraswamy BG,PSI,Bhagwanth Rai Mali Patil,and other crime staff for the commendable job done by them he added.
