North Division Police of Jalahalli police have arrested a habitual offender and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth of Rs.14 lakhs from him.
The accused has been identified as,Srinivas,alias Appu,42,resident of Bhuvaneshwari nagar near Hebbal.
DCP,North,Dharmendra Kumar Meena,told media persons,that the alert police caught a habitual offender who had burgled four houses and was seen moving suspiciously near a jewellers shop to dispose the stolen valuables.
Head constable Naresh and his colleague were on patrolling duty near MES road under Jalahalli police station limits when they noticed a man moving suspiciously near a jewellers shop on Thursday .
After a close watch,Naresh confronted him and questioned and when he frisked him the constable find a gold chain in his pocket.
Immediately they detained him and brought him to the station for detailed questioning when he failed to give convincing replies for the quarries posed.
A detailed inquiry was led by team at the station during interrogation he confess to the crime,based on his statement the team has recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs.14 lakhs.
The accused recently came out on bail and committed house breaks in Jnanabharati layout,Nandini layout and two cases in Mahalakshmi layout police station limits.
Detailed investigation by the team has revealed the accused is a habitual house break thief offender who would move around the city to identify locked houses by noticing unattended newspapers in front of the houses and was even arrested by CCB in 2019.
