The North Division Police of Rajagopalnagar police on Friday arrested a 23 year old sports coach of a private school for stealing valuables at his friend’s house to repay loan.
The accused has been identified as Manoj, resident of Peenya II stage.A throw ball coach at a private school.
The police have recovered 45 grams of gold chain worth Rs. 2.15 lakh from his possession.
Senior officer told media persons,Manoj had visited the house of Krishna,a friend,on November 25 without his knowledge and took away the gold chain which he had kept it in a drawer of his house.
Earlier Manoj had visited the house and noticed his friend keeping the gold chain and after returning from the house.He again visited and this time sneaked into the house without anyone notice and took away the gold chain.
The stolen chain was pawned to repay the loan which he borrowed from another friend.
Following a complaint filed by Krishna,owner of the gold chain,the police zeroed in on Manoj and arrested him.
During interrogation Manoj told the police that he had financial trouble as he was not getting the salary since lock down.
As he borrowed loan from his friend who started demanding that he should return the money.
While paying a casual visit to Krishna s house, he noticed gold chain and planned to steal it he said during investigation.
