From today the tenure of the existing presidents in a ll the districts and metrosis considered
terminated.The list of newly appointed presidents are attached here with. The names of
remaining district or city presidents on the list will be appointed shortly
Aam Aadmi Party national executive committee announced today that it has appointed youth icon Gopal Italia as the President of Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat. Italia will be replacing Surat-based Gandhi ideologue Prof. Kishor Desai.
Popular actress Nikita Rawal has been appointed as the State Spokesperson. Tuli Banerjee has been appointed as the State Media Co-Ordinator.
“We are pleased to welcome Gopal Italia, Nikita Rawal and Tuli Banerjee to the State Leadership Team of Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat,” said Gulab Singh Yadav, Aam Aadmi Party MLA and Gujarat Sah Prabhari. “They join Gujarat’s state leadership positions at an exciting time just shortly before the local body elections. We are hopeful that the new appointees will work hard to revive the party base and make Aam Aadmi Party emerge stronger in the State,” he added.
“Much as I would say that Prof. Desai has been doing a very able and commendable job (as president), one of the reasons that Desai decided to step down was that he felt that it is time for the youth to take over,” Yadav informed. Prof. Desai will continue being part of the party’s decision making and planning committee.
Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat also reconstituted the City Pramukhs and Jilla Pramukhs across the state to strengthen the party base. The list of names of the City Pramukhs and District Jilla Pramukhs has been attached herewith. Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat State team met today morning before the press conference and finalized their strategy for the upcoming elections.With this the term of all the working city / district committees of the district and city is also terminated. A new district or city committee will be formed by the nine appointed presidents in coordination with the regional Sangathan Mantris.

Gopal Italia is a native of Timba village in Umrala taluka of Bhavnagar district. He is a Political Science Graduate from Gujarat University. Gopal Italia joined the Gujarat Police in 2012 and worked as a contsable at Madhupura police station in Ahmedabad city. He served the Gujarat Police for 4 years and then left the services after being fed of corruption.
In 2015 Gopal joined the Ahmedabad Collectorate as a Revenue Clerk, but quit that job too in 2017, being fed up with the corruption, exploitation and dictatorship of the government. After quitting both the government jobs, Italia chose the path of creating public awareness against dictatorship and corruption.
