The North Division police of Rajagopalnagar police on Wednesday arrested a gang of six involved in serial robbery and house break thefts in and around the city.
The police have also recovered gold valuables, silver articles and electronic gadgets worth RS. 30 lakh from them.
The accused has been identified as,Kenchappa, 34,Harish,27,mohammed Ibrahim,Naveen Kumar, 31,Venkatesh Kumar,34 and James,35 are habitual offenders involved in robbery and house break thefts in and around the city.
DCP North,Dharmendra Kumar Meena,told media persons,A team of police led by Inspector Iyyanna Reddy and his team received tip-off that some people are waiting in a car armed with Lethal weapons near GKW layout in a isolated area.
Based on the information the team rushed to spot and caught the gang red handed while they were waiting in a car armed with lethal weapons to attack passers by and rob them in an isolated place in GKW layout.
For further investigation the team took them to police station and during interrogation the accused revealed that they had burgled a house in GKW layout in Peenya Second stage when the owner of the house had gone to Kunigal for his daughter’s marriage in December first week.
The team grilled all the accused and based on their statement the team has recovered stolen gold and silver ornaments with electronic gadgets worth Rs.30 lakhs from them.
The accused were arrested earlier in 2020 but after spending few months in jail, they got out on bail to continue their activities.
