The East Division police on Monday caught two rowdies after exchange of fire at a residential apartment in Puttenahalli on Monday.
The accused has been identified as,Mehraj and Abrar wanted in a murder and attempt to murder cases across Karnataka.
Senior officer, told media persons,a murder took place on 30th December last year in KG halli police station limits in which unknown miscreants attacked a 27 year old person identified as Salman was hacked to death using machete.
Based on a complaint a special team was formed by DCP,East,Dr SD Sharanappa under the supervision of ACP,Banaswadi,Sakkiri,KG Halli Police inspector,Santhosh and his special team swung into action.
The team visited the crime spot and gathered information about the incident and collaborated details to ascertain reason behind the murder and it was found that the deceased relative has murdered sultan.
Based on vital clues about the whereabouts of the accused a police team kept a close watch in the area and after getting confirmation that the accused are staying in a rented house in an apartment in South Division limits in puttenahalli area.
A team of police led by ASI,Dinesh Shetty,based on information went to the apartment to secure their arrest.ASI Dinesh Shetty entered the apartment and knocked the door.the two criminals opened the door.
Sensing trouble Mehraz fired at police party with a countrymade pistol,but the police escaped narrowly when the ASI asked them to surrender the another accused Abrar again attacked the ASI with dagger to evade arrest.
As they started attacking again,In retaliation ASI,Dinesh Shetty opened fire on Mehraz and injured on his leg in a self defense to protect himself and his team and with this the duo were arrested.
Both the accused and our ASI Dinesh Shetty was rushed to near by hospital and are undergoing treatment.
This two rowdies were on the run after assaulting police party in kolar last year.Since then they were hoodwinking the police and presently hiding in a rented apartment in Puttenahalli since many months.
The duo were involved in murder case of KG halli apart from having several criminal cases against them.
The duo have been taken to private hospital for treatment and will be taken into custody for further investigation.
