Ten agents held,E-Railway tickets worth Rs 7.70 lakh seized by RPF :

Railway Protection Force officials on Thursday busted illegal sale of E-ticket racket and conducted simultaneous raids across the city and arrested a gang of 10 persons.

The officials crackdown on offenders who indulge in illegal procurement and selling of E- Tickets for their personal gain by extorting huge sum of money from the passengers who are in need to travel urgently.

The raids were organized in Bangalore City area and suburbs and 5 teams of 4 RPF personnel each were tasked to conduct simultaneous searches to maintain the surprise raid.

A total of 10 leads were generated to carry out raids and arrested 10 persons from Kengeri, Chickpet,Magadi Road,Taverkere,Ramanagara, Ramamurthynagar among other places with a seizure of live tickets and their devices were seized valued Rs 7 .7 lakh.

The analysis of the devices has led to the identification and extraction of 27 IRCTC personal IDs which were being misused by these offenders to extort premium money from common public in name of fast and assured booking of Railway Tickets.

The accused and the digital evidences are being further analyzed for generating actionable data for the future and all 10 accused have been arrested and 10 cases have been registered under section 143 of Railways Act.

Finally Senior Divisional Security Commissioner,Debashmita Chattopadhyay Banerjee has appreciated,Inspectors as,Vaseem Ahmad,Akhilesh Tiwari,Umesh Dhakar and Rakesh Maurya led the raiding teams which led to the massive success of the raids against Illegal business of e tickets and which will be aiding smooth and hassle free passenger journey in Railways said a Senior RPF official.
