The whitefield police on Thursday arrested a couple who were honey trapping people after luring them into escort service .
The accused has been identified as,Baswathi Dutta ,26 Kiran Raj ,33 from Ullala Upanagar they used to target people offering them escort service .
Senior officer told reporters,Based on the complaint,the Whitefield police arrested the couple and recovered the ransom amount from them.
The accused Baswathi would fix the meeting, meet the victim and record the act in hidden camera to blackmail.
Using the video clip the accused would threaten to make it public and extort money and gold .
Using this Modus operandi the accused had blackmailed a private firm employee and extort 94,000 and 150 grams of gold valuables .
Investigation so far revealed that the accused were Involved in two cases so far.
However the accused are operational since 2018 and suspected to have blackmailed many,he added.
The police have seized the mobile phones and other eletronic gadgets to asertain their criminal background and further investigation is on.
