The Anti-Narcotics wing of Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials caught a Nigerian national and recovered ecstasy worth Rs 10 lakhs in Ramamurthynagar from him on Sunday.
The police have seized 100 grams Ecstacy tablets from him.The accused claims that he has come to India on a business visa but did not have any documents.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ifeanyi Ohechulwu Mike,41,a resident of Margondanahalli and hails from Nigeria.
Sandeep Patil,Joint commissioner of police,Crime told media persons,Based on the information that Mike trying to sell drugs to his customers in Ramamurthynagar,a team rushed to the spot and found Mike in a car (Honda City) waiting for customers to sell the drugs.The team detain him and after search seized 100 grams of Ecstacy tablets.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and Mike told that he came to India on a business visa a few years ago and staying in a rented house in Bengaluru.
He was sourcing drugs from his contacts who are part of the international drug ring,and peddling the drugs to his customers in city.
A detailed investigation by the team it is revealed that the customers were given his car number and location,the customers used to get into his car and pay him Rs 3,000 to Rs 6,000 per tablet.
We have booked a case under NDPS Act and Foreigners Act against Mike in Ramamurthynagar police station.Mike has not produced his passport or the visa,he used to shift his location to Chennai and then in Mumbai frequently.
The CCB officials are now investigating to ascertain his network and the customers .
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has appreciated, Joint CP Crime,Sandeep Patil, DCP Crime-1,KP Ravikumar,ACP, Anti-Narcotics wing, Gautam Kumar,PI,Mallesh Bolletin,Hazaresh Killedar,and others who has nabbed the notorious drug peddler and recovered Synthetic Drugs from his possession for the commendable job done by them a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
