The Bengaluru City traffic police launched operation suprise checks in and around the city for two and half hours on Wednesday and booked 8362 cases of traffic violations and collected a fine amount of Rs.43,09,944 .
The amount includes pending violation dues from the motorists who were caught repeating the offence during the special drive,Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda,Joint commissioner of Police, traffic,said.
He even said the traffic police will launch suprise checks a enforcement drive across the city at the unexpected places to suprise and catch the motorists violating the rules he said.
This is an enforcement drive to create road discipline among the motorists and reduce the number of accidents,he added.
Among the Rs 43,09,944,total fine collected, Rs 12,36,000 is the pending dues of various violations while the rest of the fine amount is based on the fresh violations booked,Mr.Gowda added.
