The Central Division police of Wilson Garden police on Tuesday arrested a 19-year-old goldsmith who had stolen solid gold or Gold bars weighing 11.2 kg worth Rs 4.58 Crore
The arrested accused has been identified as Swapnil Ghadge of Solapur,Maharashtra.
Senior officer told media persons,a complaint was registered in Wilson Garden police station by Siddeshwar Haribha Sindhe,a Shop owner of Sanskar Refinery Enterprises located in Nagarathpet area.
The shop owner stated in his complaint that he is into melting old gold jewels into Solid or Gold bar and after melting he would make new designs according to customers.
Sindhe said,that He appointed a gold Smith by name Swapnil who came to Bengaluru in November and joined in Sindhe’s shop.
Sindhe told police that on January 29 they had melted around 12.7 kg gold and made it solid gold and kept it in his relatives house on RT Street.
On next morning Swapnil went to Sindhe’s relatives house and took the gold from there by lying to them saying that Sindhe has asked to bring the gold.He took the gold to the shop and fled away with the gold before Sindhe came to shop,Sindhe said in his complaint.
Based on complaint a special team was formed by DCP Central,MN Anucheth, under the leadership of ACP, Halasurgate,Smt Nazma Farooq,PI, Shankaracharya of Wilson Garden police station swung into action.
After collecting all the details and based on technical inputs and other credible information the Wilson police team rushed to Solapur and based on concrete evidence the team arrested accused Swapnil from his house in Solapur and recovered the stolen gold from his possession.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and it was revealed that Swapnil was working with Siddeshwar Haribha Sindhe,who is into melting old gold jewels into solid and make new designs.Sindhe owns Sanskar Refinery Enterprises and he has few employees working with him.
A detailed investigation by the team it is revealed that Swapnil was earlier working in a similar firm in Hyderabad and returned to his native during lockdown and after lockdown was lifted he returned Bengaluru and joined with Sindhe and to become rich and earn ease money is now cooling his heels in jail and further investigation is on.
Congratulating the police,Kamal Pant,Bengaluru Police Commissioner tweeted,”Kudos to the Wilson Garden police station team for their swift action in detecting a gold robbery case within 10 hours.
The accused has been arrested and 11.2 Kg of gold bars worth Rs.4.50 Cr has been seized.Well done, team he tweeted.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP Central,MN Anucheth,ACP Halasurgate,Smt Nazma Farooq,PI, Shankaracharya,PSI,SB Maghudhum,ASI, Rajashekaraiah and crime staff as,Ulfathullakhan, Paramesh Nayak,Santosh Kumar Chouhan, Prakash,Ganesh Rao Kadham,Anveer,Bavakhan, Shashidhar Mokshi,Sunil Agrani and others who has detected the case within 10 hours and arrested the accused from Maharashtra a suitable reward will be given to the team for the commendable and exemplary work done by them he added.
