A 19 year old youth was hacked to death by five member gang near public washroom in Siddapura slum area on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Aakash, a labourer by profession and resident of Siddapura slum.
A murder was reported in Siddapura police station limits as a gang of five persons armed with sharp weapons killed a 19 year old near washroom.
As soon as the incident was reported DCP,with other officers rushed to spot and cordoned off the area.Sniffer dog with finger print and forensic experts were pressed into action to collect evidence about the assailants.
After inspecting the spot and collecting information from the Inspector of Siddapura DCP South,Harish Pandey told media persons,On Wednesday at around 8.30 pm deceased Akash went to Washroom situated near Moorumara junction in Siddapura and at the same time suddenly a gang of five armed with lethal weapons attacked Akash and killed him on the spot and escaped before passers by rushed to the help.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for Post mortem before conducting a detailed probe.
Peimilinary enquiry revealed that the assailant was looking for Akash father Velu for a long time to avenge the death of their cousin,but Velu was absconding.
Since they could not trace Velu,they decided to kill Akash to avenge the death of their cousin.
Further inquiry revealed that Velu and his friend identified as Rajavelu are drinking partners.
Around 40 days ago,both went to a bar in wilson garden and drank.
While returning Rajavelu,collapsed and died under mysterious circumstances.
The wilson garden police had taken up a UDR case and are awaiting for FSL report to ascertain the cause of death.
However the accused who are the cousins of Rajavelu suspected that Velu had killed and vouched to avenge for the death.However Velu who got to know about this escaped since then.
We have identified the accused and will be arrested soon and a case has been registered in Siddapura police station and further investigation is on.
