Mob attacks traffic cops after Civil engineer dies in accident :

Enraged over the death of a civil engineer, a mob went on a rampage here on Monday, damaging a police van and attacking the traffic policemen.

The injured policemen were deployed and were conducting nakabandi at bogadi hinkal ring road when Devraj,biker in a bid to escape rode in rash and negligent manner lost control in the melee and killed after colliding with another vehicle.

Senior officer told media persons,The 47-year-old civil engineer was speeding on his bike when the deceased saw cops checking vehicles as it is alleged the rider was coming in a great speed and while trying to escape, he went to the extreme left at a great speed and the two- wheeler skidded,and he fell.He died on the spot, the police said. This angered the mob which has damaged the police Hoysala vehicle and beat up the traffic policemen on duty.

Passers by who notices the incident went their ire on ASI and police constable.

Both the police sustained serious injuries and taken to hospital.

DCP,Prakash gowda rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control .

The police are now collecting video clips of the incident for further investigation.

People accused police of stopping bikes to check on highways despite there is restriction of not to stop the vehicles unnecessarily.

A senior citizen said what has happened today it should not happen as the rider was driving without helmet or he might had violated traffic rules so seeing cops he tried to escape and as he was driving in rash and negligent manner he went completely on the left side where he lost control and skidded and which led to collided to another vehicle.

But the anger mob which went violent and abused and injured the cop in the video we can see the angry mob even hited the cop with helmet and started abusing with filthy language and even damaged the Hoysala vehicle they turtled the vehicle too.

We appeal citizens to not take law in their hand and do not target police personnel we warn the enraged public to obey law and traffic rules and a special teams are in action to nab the miscreants who attacked police and a strict action will be taken against those indulge in unlawful activities he added.
