ELCARE | CARENTING FOR ELDERS

Elcare is a for-profit social enterprise conceptualized to provide sustainable, efficient, cost-effective, and convenient end-to-end at-home carenting (elder-care) services for our beloved senior citizens of the country. “Carenting”, as a term has been coined to define the way of caring as well as parenting for the elderly as they have done for us as our parents, and how we continue to take care of our children. In sync with our core beliefs and values, the Elcare Logo symbolizes and signifies ‘elderly people taken care of by our nurturing hands’. They are connected within a circle representing the 360-degrees of wholesome care undertaken by our expert CareMates, CareAngels, and other on-panel experts and consultants. Our CareMates are a team of retired ex-servicemen from the defense background, who have defended our country’s borders, and are now looking after those who haveplayed a role in making the country what it is today!

The elders are more prone to various sickness and other age-related ailments, and consistently require our support for their day-to-day requirements, which they find difficult to carry out at this age. They also need constant companionship to resolve their loneliness, and to continue feeling safe and taken care of at their homes. Elcare not only focuses on fulfilling the healthcare requirements of our elders, like nursing care, physiotherapy, at-home ICU set-up, specialized or geriatric care consultation, home delivery of medicines, etc., but also fulfill theirday-to-day requirements and any special needs, like, legal, financial, accounting, help with groceries, tour and travels, IT support, etc. as well as promotes their social inclusiveness and welfare, community engagement, safety, security, etc. through a designated CareMate for each senior citizen and our various technology platforms.

As per a recent report by the United Nations Population Facts and HelpAge India, currently India has a senior citizen population of 104 million, out of which 53 million are women, whereas 51 million are men, and the estimated population shall increase to 174 million by end of the year 2026. Facts clearly show that the lack of long-term palliative care is one of the major factors affecting our families in India with most of them not properly looked after by anyone. Only a small fraction of the elders are financially independent, and most of them are not living with their next of kin due to their professional and social commitments, which lead to many elders living and caring for themselves. Elcare is committed to bridging these gaps, by normalizing ‘Carenting’, in every household across the country.

The Elcare family is just a phone call-away at 08045914567 to readily address the needs, emergencies or even provide regular assistance to the elders through our network of CareMates and technology platforms, as well as provide a peace of mind and reassurance to the elders and their next of kin by fulfillingtheir each and every basic necessity.
