Two held,NCB busts inter-state Drug trafficking network,Seized 90 kilos Marijuana,

Officials of NCB on Saturday busted another inter-state drug racket and seized 90 kilos of marijuana being smuggled into city from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

Two persons identified as A.Kumar and Z.Hussain who are carrying the consignment were arrested.

Senior officer of NCB said,Acting on a specific intelligence input,a team of NCB Bangalore Zone unit headed by, Amit Ghawate,(Zonal Director)and his team swung into action and were succeeded in intercepting an goods Truck at Devanahalli, Bengaluru and seized 90Kgs of Ganja from the truck.

The seized Ganja was found packed in 3 jute gunny bags concealed under a load of coconuts, Amit Ghawate,Zonal director,NCB,said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Ganja was sourced from Andhra Pradesh and destined for further distribution in and around Bengaluru.

We have taken the duo into custody to probe about the network and further investigation is on.

Finally NCB acknowledges the dedicated efforts of Amit Ghawate (Zonal Director Bengaluru), Venugopal G.Kurup,(Assistant Director, Bengaluru)along with their team members for the exemplary work done by them he added.
