My name is Amit Kumar Chauhan, 35 Yrs old, s/o Shri Jai Pal Singh, address – 478 Narmada, Mahagunpuram, NH-24, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh 201002.
On 3rd June at 10:54 am, i got a call from mobile number – 8099604147. The person claimed to be my father’s friend. He told his name Mr. Anil Sharma. He said that i have to transfer Rs. 20,000/- to your father’s account and i am sending the same to your PayTM account. He said tell me your Whatsapp number and i am sending a UPI payment picture Rs. 1. He asked to send this picture to my wife’s Whatsapp number and scan it from my Paytm account. In a fraction of a second, he sent me the picture (later in a few seconds he deleted the UPI payment picture).
I found this little fishy and said that Uncle, allow me a minute and let me hang up your call so that i can send this picture to my wife’s WhatsApp number. I did so and immediately called my father to verify. My father, Shri Jai Pal Singh, told that he has not said anyone to transfer such funds. After knowing this, i tried calling on the same number – 8099604147 and the person picked up the call but when i asked his name he hunged up the call. After that, he never picked my call.
I wish to bring this to the notice of the Cyber Cell team of Uttar-Pradesh so that such cyber fraudsters are not able to dupe innocent people in the future.
