The Central Division police of Vyyalikaval police on Tuesday caught a 38 year old Nigerian national and recovered one kg of Marijunana and MDMA crystal powder worth Rs 65,000 from him.
The accused has been identified as,Antony Tebechukwu Obdoakor,38, of Nigeria.
Senior officer told media persons,the Vyalikaval Inspector Hemanth Kumar who was on his routine area rounds received a credible information about the drug peddling in his jurisdiction near LPO ground by a foreign national.
Acting on the information Inspector Hemanth Kumar and his crime team rushed to the spot near LPO ground in Vyalikaval and kept a close watch on the foreign national for sometime and when the team got confirmation that he has come to handover drugs and waiting for his customers to deliver the drugs was secured.
During interrogation the accused confessed the crime and Antony told the police that he had come to India on a business visa in 2018 and stayed even after his passport and visa expired. He told the police that he had sourced the drugs from his contact John.
A case has been registered in Vyalikaval police station and the accused has been booked under NDPS Act and also under foreigners Act for further investigation and efforts are on to nab his contact from whom he has procured the drugs and the owner of the house will also be questioned in this regard for his illegal stay.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP Central,MN Anucheth,ACP, Sheshadripuram,Prithvi,PI,Hemanth Kumar, and his crime staff for nabbing the Nigerian National Drug peddler and recovering synthetic Drugs worth Rs.65,000 and for the commendable job done by them a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
