Broad daylight murder in Bengaluru:Former BJP Corporator Rekha Kadiresh Murdered in front of her office

Former Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) two time councillor Rekha Kadiresh (BJP),was hacked to death by armed men outside her office near the flower garden in Cottonpet on Thursday morning around 10.30 am.

The two-time councillor from Chalavadipalya was supervising the distribution of relief material and breakfast when the assailants attacked her and fled the scene.Her husband,too,had met a similar fate when she was councillor in 2018.

The killers planned the ex corporator Rekha Kadiresh murder just after they released from the jail recently.

As soon as the murder incident was reported jurisdiction police inspector Chidananda Murthy and other inspectors as,BG Kumaraswamy,Lokhapur along with ACP,P Ravikumar,DCPs,as,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,BS Angadi,Addl CP East,S Murugan and other crime staff visited the crime spot and cordoned the area.

Additional police force has been deployed in the area as it is a very sensitive area.

Dog squad with Forensic experts are pressed into action to collect the clue or evidence from the spot.

The senior officers inspected the spot and collected the information from the inspector and people in the area.

After inspecting the area,Addl CP East,S Murugan addressing media persons said,There were two assailants who attacked her with lethal weapons.Neighbours claimed they heard a noise and when they went to rescue her,they found the former councillor collapsed in a pool of blood.

She was immediately rushed to Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) where she succumbed.It was a pre planned murder as the assailants had turned away the CCTVs installed outside the office.

We suspect that the assailants were known to her and were aware of her routine,said a senior police officer.

Three years ago,in February 2018,her husband Kadiresh S,a rowdy-sheeter,was hacked to death near Muneshwara Temple in Chalavadipalya.The attackers had later surrendered before a city court.

A manhunt has been launched we have formed four special teams which will have 2 inspectors in each team to catch the accused, police said.

CM BS Yediyurappa condoling the death, said that he has directed police commissioner to probe in detail and arrest the Assailants at the earliest.
