The North Division police of Sanjaynagar police on Thursday arrested two persons from Andhra Pradesh and seized 75 kgs of Marijuana drugs from them.
The accused has been identified as,A Vijay,23 and Shivakumar 37,both resident of Andhra Pradesh.
Senior officer told reporters,The Sanjaynagar police inspector Balaraju G and his crime staff on 23rd June were on their routine rounds and during which they received a tip off that one person is consuming drugs near Lottegollahalli railway track.
Acting on tip off immediately they rushed to spot and secured the person who was caught consuming drugs in public place and was booked for consuming drugs in public place.
Later the inspector and his team questioned him and during questioning the person was identified as,Shivashankar,28 year old the team grilled him to know from whom is procuring drugs and he spilled the beans and the team obtained information from him.
Then the inspector and crime staff passed the information to their informants to inform about any such activities happening at Hebbal Flyover.
The team received a credible information that two persons are waiting on the Hebbal Flyover and they have four bags in their vehicle.
Immediately Sanjayanagar police inspector Balaraju and his crime team swung into action and rushed to spot and kept a close watch on the two and when they got some suspicious on them the team went to them and questioned them about their name and for whom they are waiting.
The team got suspicious on their statement and asked them to show what is in bags and the team checked and found Marijauna in the bags.
The duo were caught red handed near Hebbal flyover along with four bags full of Marijuana while they were waiting for their customers.
The team secured them and took them to station for further questioning during interrogation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that Vijay was into pig farming and had sourced ganja from bordering villages of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha for cheaper prices.
“He smuggled the contraband in goods vehicles to Bengaluru and sold it here.Before reaching the city, he called his customers and informed them about the location where he would sell the drugs in bulk .
The other accused,Shivakumar,was assisting Vijay to get money to spend them on his vices,we have booked both the accused under NDPS Act and further investigation is on.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant, has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan,DCP North,Dharmendra Kumar Meena,ACP JC Nagar Sub-Division,Smt.Reena Suvarna,PI,Balaraju G,PSI,as,Girish Naik,and crime staff as,Suresh,Pradeep Kumar,Tippu Sultan,Smt.Lathamani,Pradeep, Karthik,Arun,Malappa and Rakshith has done a exemplary work in nabbing the duo.
Kamal Pant,tweeted and said,We’ll be TOUGH on your STUFF!Kudos to the @sanjaynagarps team for apprehending two inter-state drug peddlers near Hebbal flyover.75-kg Ganja has been seized and further investigation is underway.A reward of Rs.40K has been announced to the team he added.
