Alert railway police attached to Mangaluru Railway on Monday caught two youth who were trying to smuggle marijuana from Odisha to Mangalore .
The accused identified as Siddique Ibrahim, 21 and Mohammed Moufal,26 were caught while they were waiting at platform no.2 to catch a train to Mangalore .
Senior officer told reporters,PSI,Kantharaju and team who were on patroliing noticed the duo and approached them.
The duo panicked noticing the police and when the police inquired about the backpack they were carrying,the duo tried to give an evasive response.
Suspecting something was wrong the police checked their bag to find 8 kilograms of Marijuana wrapped in plastic bundles .
The duo confessed that they got the consignment from Aman from Berhampur, Odisha and travelled by train to Mangalore to hand it over to Farooq,of Kasaragod.
The duo further said that the accused Farooq had offered Rs 5,000 each for getting the consignment from Aman successfully.
The duo was booked under NDPS Act and further investigations are on to track down Farooq.
