A iron material laden goods vehicle and a motorcycle charred in a freak road accident occurred on Thigalarapalya main road in Byadarahalli police station limits in the wee hours of Saturday.
Senior officer as,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,with ACP,UD Krishna Kumar,PI,A Rajeev visited spot and after inspecting the spot and taking stock of the situation told reporters,Rider was injured in the mishap as the goods vehicle’s driver was away after parking his vehicle on the roadside while the bike rider escaped soon after the accident,a police officer said.
The incident occurred at around 12.05 am on Saturday.The vehicle carrying iron material was parked on the roadside and the driver was waiting for the people to unload.
Meanwhile the rider of the bike rode in a rash and negligent manner lost control and collided with the parked vehicle.
Due to the impact the bike struck under the truck and the petrol tank leaked which led to spark due to the accident ignited the fire .
Soon the fire engulfed both the vehicles and by the time passers-by could act,both the vehicles were gutted.
The Byadarahalli police have taken up a case and efforts are on to track down the owner who escaped soon after the accident.
Even the registration number of the bike is charred and the police are trying to identify the owner through the chassis number of the vehicle.
