The North Division police of Sanjaynagar police have opened fire at a 23-year-old rowdy who attacked a police constable in a bid to escape arrest.
The accused has been identified as,Avanish,23 year old.
Senior officer as,DCP North,Dharmender Kumar Meena,ACP,JC Nagar Sub-Division,Smt.Reena Suvarna visited the spot and after inspecting the spot and taking stock of the situation at the shootout site DCP visited hospital where the accused and injured constable was undergoing treatment.
Senior officer told reporters,Notorious Rowdy Avinash,s/o Shankar,24 years was absconding since last 22 days in very serious day light attempt to murder on one Muniraj near ISRO Head quarters.
Saturday early morning,Based on specific information, a team of police headed by PI, Sanjaynagar, Balaraj and his team rushed to spot and surrounded the area and began a combing operation to track him.
PI,Sanjaynagar and his team received a credible information that the Rowdy sheeter wanted in over five criminal cases was hiding near an isolated place in Guddenahalli
The team tries to arrest him near Guddenahalli ground where he attacked one of the police staff Santosh and tried to escape.
To make him surrender PI Sanjay Nagar fired warning shot in air. Still he didn’t surrender and try to attack PI Sanjay Nagar.
Then PI Sanjay Nagar opened fire at him below waist and arrested him. He was taken to Victoria Hospital immediately for treatment.Police staff santosh admitted in Baptist Hospital.
Rowdy-sheeter Avinash having total 5 cases against him.1 murder case in Ram Murthy Nagar PS,1 attempt to murder in Yelahanka,1 attempt to murder in Hebbal and 1 attempt to murder in Sanajay Nagar. 1 simple hurt case in Hebbal.
A case under attempt to murder has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.
