Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the Government is mulling to set up a society to provide medicines for cancer treatment at concessional rates.
He was speaking at the inaugural programme in the presence of Dr. K.Sudhakar, Minster for Health and Medical Education,Dr.C.Ramchandra , Director, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology were present on the occasion of the OPD block, built by Infosys Foundation at the Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, here today.
He said that the CSR and Government funds will be utilized to provide facilities to the family members who are attending to the patient.
He said that priority would be given to innovation in treating cancer.The CM suggested that Kidwai Institute must tie-up with the best institutes in the world to expand its Research and Development activities.
The Chief Minister said that action would be taken to establish Regional Cancer Centres and a new centre will soon be established in Hubballi and Dharwad.
The CM appreciated the service of the Kidwai Hospital and each one involved in the treatment of cancer and assured to provide all support from the Government.
