10-year old reunited safely to family by social activist and child helpline member in Bengaluru

A social activist and a child helpline member helped a woman to get back her 10- year-old son to a family working as a domestic help in a house in Bhoopasandra for the last three months.

The woman,identified as Shirin,had borrowed Rs. 3,000 from the family for delivery and left the boy in their house asking them to take care till she returns .

However the family forced the boy to do daily chores and take care of their pet dog until he was finally rescued on Monday.

Meanwhile the boyfriend of Shirin after delivery sold the baby boy to a childless couple through a woman identified as Tabassum.However the Wilson Garden police arrested Tabassum and reunited the baby boy with Shirin in August 19 .

However after coming back home Shirin started demanding the family to get back her 10-year-old boy but the family was demanding to pay the money to get her son.

The incident came to light when Tabassum went to Sanjaynagar police station to file a complaint, but the police blamed her for the mess and dropped her at Bhoopasandra bus stop in a hoysala patrolling vehicle to go home .

city based social activist,Rosaline Gomes who was at the bus stop noticed worried Shirin and asked her .

Based on her confession,Ms.Gomes with the help of Gunasheela K,member of the child helpline , approached the police and rescued the boy on Tuesday.

The boy was reunited with the mother and the police counselled the family which had employed the boy as domestic help and let off with a warning.

Shirin,aged around 30 years now has a bigger problem taking care of the two children while working as domestic help to earn livelihood.

Shirin was living with Mubarak Pasha who is alcoholic and already married with three children , now on the run after Wilson garden police are on the lookout for him.
