The Superintendent of Police Chikkaballapur district on Saturday dismissed a police constable attached to Bagepalli after he was caught red handed while appearing for the civil police written exam in Yadgir in November last year impersonating his brother .
The accused Constable Devraj attached to Bagepalli police station had applied for leave citing personal reasons to go to his home district to appear for the exam on behalf of his brother Mareppa.
Based on the complaint,a case has been registered against Devraj and the department initiated an inquiry into the incident.
A detailed inquiry proved him guilty following which Devraj was dismissed and the department also barred Mareppa to attend any competitive exams in future said Chikkaballapur Superintendent of police.
