schools in haryana will reopen for classes 1 to 3 from septenber 20, state education minister kanwar pal
said. classes will be held while strictly sticking to covid-19 standard operating procedures issued by the
education department.
it has not been made mandatory for students to atend school as online classes will also run
simultaneously. the students need written permission from parents to attend school.
according to the guidelines, a gap of minimum 6 feet is to be maintained between students. thermal
scanning and hand sanitization to be done on the entrance and masks are mandatory to wear. only one
student to be allowed to sit on a desk and sharing of food is not allowed.
On September 1, schools had reopened for classes 4 and 5. The state had earlier allowed the reopening
of schools for classes 9 to 12 in July and students of classes 6 to 8 were allowed to return to schools
later.
Pal said that over 70 per cent of school teachers have been vaccinated against Covid, on an average
nearly 70 per cent (classes 4 to 8) were currently attending, though in districts like Mewat and Palwal the
attendance was comparatively low. However, the attendance of students in senior classes from 9 to
12was averaging nearly 45 per cent, he said.
