Pothole Death: BJP party member killed in freak road accident in Anekal PWD officials and contractors booked

The Anekal police registered an FIR against the PWD officials concerned and contractors charging them under death due to negligence after a 50-year-old shopkeeper and member of ruling BJP party was killed in a freak road accident in Anekal on Tuesday night.

The deceased Madesha resident of submangala was returning home on his motorcycle after visiting his daughter in Sarjapur.

While reaching near Submangala,he collided with a head of mud and slipped from his bike after losing control and sustained severe head injuries.

staff of nearby dhaba rushed to his help and shifted him to Anekal government hospital from there shifted to a private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.

Chandrashekhar,brother of the deceased and advocate by profession,alleged in his complaint that the PWD department had dug up pits around the road side trees on the hosur and Anekal road stretch and put the mud heap on the road haphazardly since one and half months,as part of road widening work.

He alleged that the negligence of the PWD engineers and the contractor led to the death of hi brother and sought legal action against them.

Relatives of deceased and other party workers staged protest and demanded Tahsildar to visit the spot and to pacify the protesters Dinesh Tahsildar met the people at the spot and promised them to repair the pothole and take action against the officers for their negligence.

The police have also visited the spot on Wednesday as part of spot inspection and summoned the PWD officials and the forest department officials concerned for inquiry and further investigation is on.
