Over 3000 kg of heroin seized from 2 containers worth Rs 21,000 crore from Afghanistan at the Adani Group’s Gujarat Mundra port- Supriya Shrinate demands probe

Sushma Gowda (Correspondent)

Supriya Shrinate, AICC National spokesperson addressed a press conference in Bengaluru and made startling revelation of 3000 kg heroine worth Rs.21,000 crore seized at Gujarat’s Adani Mundra port.

25,000 kg heroine worth Rs.1,75,000 crore imported in June, already in market.

This drug import from Afghanistan poses serious threat to national security by pushing our youth towards drug addiction.

Conspicuous silence by PM,Home Minister and the media raises serious questions she said.

Exactly 17 days before on 13 September,2021 3000 kg heroine worth Rs.21,000 crore was seized at the Adani Mundra port in Gujarat.

But what followed was pin drop silence in the Modi government and media at large instead of the outrage and clampdown.

This heroine, fraudulently branded as ‘semi cut talcum power’ has been imported from Afghanistan by Aashi Trading Company whose owners Sudhakar Macchwaram and his wife Govind Raju Vaishali have since been arrested.

But Aashi Trading Company merely paid Rs.4 lakh as import and ga dekhne agent. One still doesn’t know who is the real drug syndicate, because drug import in this quantum by small time traders is impossible.

But this isn’t the only massive quantity of heroine imported,on 9 June, 2021 from the same Adani Mundra port in Gujarat Aashi Trading Company imported 25,000 kgs of heroine worth Rs.1,75,000 crore sent by Afghanistan based M/s Hasan Husain Limited.

This wasn’t seized and is perhaps moving freely all across the Indian market pushing millions of our youth towards addiction.

If this doesn’t pose a threat to national security and endanger the future of our youth, what will? Instead of 14 crore jobs that our youth should have got in the last 7 years as promised by Mr Modi what they have to deal with is a drug syndicate.

But have you heard any debates, any outrage in media or any explanation from the government?
The same media which irresponsibly and brazenly named shamed the entire film industry, and put people in the dock over the discovery of 2 grams of drugs has turned a blind eye to this massive drug cartel operating in India.

However questions will be raised about the identity of the real importers of this drug. Drug consignments worth Rs.1,75,000 crore and Rs.21,000 crore can’t be imported without official patronage at a high level.

You will be surprised to know that Narcotics Control Bureau, the apex agency for drug control and seizure has not had a full time Director General for over 18 months now.

It’s also important to point out that the huge drug consignment was not seized under a strategic well thought out seizure operation, this was done in the routine checks by Department of Revenue Intelligence.

It is important to point out after the Modi government chose to stay mum,a special court for Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) in Bhuj,Gujarat, has directed the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) to investigate if the “Mundra Adani Port, its management and its authority gained any benefits” from the 3000 kgs of heroin seized which was imported from Afghanistan.

Supriya said, We have a few questions for the Prime Minister:

1.Isn’t the seizure of over 3000 kg of heroin unprecedented and points to a major crime syndicate operating freely in India which endangers the future of our youth?

2.Where has the 25,000 kg heroine worth Rs.1,75,000 imported in June vanished-why no inquiry into it?

3.What is India’s Narcotics Control Bureau,CBI, ED, DRI upto? Is there role restricted to merely intimidating political opponents?

4.Does this not threaten national security given the imports were happening from Afghanistan now in the hands of the Taliban?

5.Can an ‘import’ of this magnitude be attempted by any one without official patronage at a high level? Why are PM,HM conspicuously silent?

6.Why has Adani Mundra port not been investigated into? Why has this port in Gujarat become the seemingly preferred in road to import drugs into India?

7.Has the Adani group – which owns and operates the Mundra Port – profiteered from this import,as asked by the Special Court?

8.Why is the post of a full time Director General lying vacant at India’s Narcotics Control Bureau for the last 18 months?

9.Why have the PM and Modi Government failed to ensure India’s national security?

10.And finally why must there be no probe under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge into this matter of great national security which puts the future of an entire generation in jeopardy? She said,

We demand a full inquiry under a sitting Supreme Court justice so that the real identity of the drug syndicate and their patrons come to light.”
