Karnataka Home Minister,Araga Jnanendra along with,Home Secretary,Rajneesh Goel,DG&IGP, Praveen Sood, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,with all senior officers as ACP and above rank officers were present at the first crime review meeting held by Home Minister of Karnataka.
The review meeting was attended by Addl CPs,as,Soumendhu Mukherjee,S Murugan,Joint CPs,as,Sandeep Patil,Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda, DCPs,as,MN Anucheth,Dr SD Sharanappa, Dharmender Kumar Meena,Harish Pandey,Srinath Mahadev Joshi,Shantharaju M,Kuldeep Kumar R Jain,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,Nisha James,Devaraj D,CK Baba,Isha Pant,Santhosh Babu,Sajeeth V,and all ACPs and other officers were present.
Mr.Jnanendra also launched the Arms License Online Application,which facilitates to apply for fresh arms license,renewal, journey license, re-registration,acquisition and endorsement of firearm,sales or transfer permission,time extension,addition/deletion of retainer,change of residential address,jurisdictions extension,and other services.
Currently, the facility is available only in Bengaluru and it will be extended across the state.Jnanendra said there are over 8,000 arms license holders in Bengaluru alone.
Home Minister,Araga Jnanendra visited commissioner office on Thursday to review crime and discuss what better steps to be taken to control criminal activities in the city.
He visited the command center to collect information from the DCP command center,Isha Pant explained about the dial 112 and how it works and functions when they receive a call from public who are in distress.
Speaking to reporters,after holding his first-ever review meeting with senior police officers of the Bengaluru city here on Thursday.
Home Minister,Araga Jnanendra,said that I have instructed the Bengaluru city police commissioner to make the city free of rowdy elements and take strict action against land grabbers who create fake land documents and cheat people.
Jnanendra said that he had instructed the officers to ensure there will be no rowdy activities in the city.
I have told them to make the city rowdy-free Bengaluru.They have been asked to identify rowdy elements and initiate stringent action against them.he reiterated .
Warning police not to associate with land sharks, he said,the police must ensure no genuine owners of lands should suffer at the hands of land mafia.
Some land grabbers are also using muscle power and threatening land owners through rowdies.So, police should treat cases of land grabbing with at most serious and ensure such offenders are punished strictly,Jnanendra said.
He also said the beat system will be strengthened in the city and details of each and every foreigner will be maintained in all police stations.
I have also asked them to crack down on racketeers who provide fake documents such as voter IDs and Aadhaar cards to illegal immigrants from countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan”.
Further, he added that the police will also keep vigil on gambling, both offline and online, especially at recreation clubs.
He even pulled up police officers and said that he has received many complaints about that some cops are hand in gloves with owners of illegal dance bars and he pulled up the officers for being silent on illegal dance bars running under their nose and asked the commissioner of police, Kamal Pant to form a special squad and raid all illegal dance bars and clubs in the city he added.
