INDIAN COAST GUARD CONDUCTED MARITIME SEARCH AND RESCUE WORKSHOP IN GUJARAT

Gujarat: One day “Maritime Search and Rescue Workshop” was conducted on 05 October 2021 by Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 1, Porbandar to focus on coordination amongst stakeholders for effective Search and Rescue (SAR) operations at sea. ICG is the National Maritime SAR conducting authority with DGICG chairing National Maritime SAR board.

The conference was attended by representatives from Coast Guard, Navy, Marine Police Gujarat and UT Police of Diu, Customs, ISRO, Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) Khambat, Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) Kutch and Airport Authority of India. The gathering revalidated the existing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on SAR.

The visiting delegation also presented the latest developments in their respective fields/departments.
