After a bomb blast rock mysore city court premises, the NIA Special Court, Bengaluru on Friday convicted three al- qaida terror suspects.
An NIA court here on Friday convicted three people, who had pledged their allegiance to proscribed terrorist organisation al-Qaeda,for their involvement in the bomb blast in a Mysuru court in 2016,an official said.
The convicts are,Nainar Abbas Ali @ Library Abbas,M Samsun Karim Raja @ Karim @ Abdul Karim and Dawood Sulaiman,residents of Tamilnadu for their involvement
in the bomb blast on august 2016 in a public toilet in Court premises of Chamarajapuram, Mysuru City,Karnataka.
The case was originally registered as FIR.In Lakshmipuram Police Station,Mysuru City, however based on the orders of MHA,NIA had re-registered the case and taken over the investigation.
Investigation had revealed that the bomb blast in Mysore Court on 1.8.2016 was one among the five series of bomb blasts committed by the members of Base Movement,an organization, owing allegiance to Al Qaeda,a proscribed Terrorist Organization.
They had also executed the bomb Blast at Chittor Court( Nellore,Andhra Pradesh) in April 2016,at Kollam Court,Kerala on 15.5.2016,at Nellore Court,Andhra Pradesh on 12.9.2016,and at Mallapuram Court,Kerala on November 2016.
Investigation had revealed that the accused persons Nainar Abbas Ali @ Library Abbas and Dawood Sulaiman had formed the Base Movement,in Tamilnadu in January,2015,inspired by ideology of Al-Qaeda and its leader Osama Bin Laden.
They had recruited the other accused persons and hatched criminal conspiracy to threaten government departments,especially courts, holding them responsible for atrocities and injustice meted out to a particular religious group.
In pursuance to the conspiracy,they had systematically issued threats to prison authorities and police officials of different states and to French Embassy in India.
After investigation,NIA had filed Charge Sheet against three (03) accused persons namely Nainar Abbas Ali @ Library Abbas,M Samsun Karim Raja @ Karim @ Abdul Karim and Dawood Sulaiman on May 2017 and the trial in the case was concluded on september 2021.
On Friday NIA Special Court,Bengaluru held the three accused persons guilty and convicted them under the following sections of law.
Nainar Abbas Ali,u/s 120 B IPC,Sec.465,468,471 r/w 120 B IPC,Sec.16(1)(b),18,18 B,20,23 of UA(P)A,Sec.3,4,5 of Explosives Substances Act, r/w 120 B IPC and sec.4,Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
Samsun Karim,u/s 120 B IPC,Sec.16(1) (b),18,20, 23 UA(P)A,Sec.4 (b),5 of Explosives Substances Act r/w 120 B IPC and sec.4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
Dawood Sulaiman u/s 120 B IPC,Sec 465,468, 471 IPC r/w Sec.120 B of IPC,Sec.16(1) (b),18, 20,23 of 
UA(P)A,Sec.3,4 and 5 of Explosives Substances Act r/w 120 B of IPC and sec.4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
The quantum of punishment against the convicted accused persons will be pronounced on october 11 2021.
