Posing as a courier boy,a man robbed a gold chain from a home alone woman at her house in Jayanagar 1st block on the pretext of delivering a parcel on Sunday.
The victim Sukanya,72,a retired government employee responded to a door bell on Sunday morning and noticed a man posing as a courier boy said that he had a parcel to deliver.
Ms.Sukanya refused to take it from inside stating that she had not ordered anything not expecting any parcel from anyone.
However the accused forced her to open the door to check whether the address given to him was correct .
As soon as she opened the door, the accused snatched the chain from her neck worth Rs 1.4 lakh, ran out and rode pillion with his partner who was waiting in a bike outside the house.
She raised an alarm prompting the neighbours to rush to her help and they even chased the accused,but they managed to escape .
The Tilak Nagar police have taken up a case of robbery and investigating to identify the accused and further investigation is on said a senior officer.
